Pmann, dearest friend and the son I never had, will you please take a look after my thread? I trust you. You are as wise and brilliant as you are handsome. Your wit makes me giggle for days.

I trust you to prepare and come up with applicable, witty questions like you always do. I have but one request... Please do not let them have a laugh. If you see it going that way, pull out your badge and whip them into shape.

I love you,

Papa Chained

Here is today's question:

Good morning Literoticonianitizens! Happy election Tuesday to ye all. Hopefully you went out and voted. So politics comes from the Latin word "poly" meaning "many" and the word "tic" meaning "tic". It's a pretty divisive issue. How about for you? How much emphasis do you place on politics? Do you care? How about in your relationships? Does it matter if your partner has a different view than you? Do you discuss politics with your partners?

You have a king, fuckers!!!! Stop sulking and give praises to your newly elected king!!!! (On Election Day... How appropriate)

Lolol...
politics. ....i follow it begrudgingly. With three kids....one with a lifetime illness....politics is a huge factor. Do I like how it's organised....do I like Harper???? Do I discuss politics at the dinner table....no....
Voting often reflects deep personal beliefs so I think the differences would reflect other places i your relationship.

I've straddled both boards for a long, long while and have never experienced personal discrimination. If there is, I'm oblivious to such pettiness.

Me too, though more GB in the past year because of stuff and things ;)

I am originally a playgrounder so I suppose I was in one of those mixed relationships

I must place some importance on it because I talk over politics quite often with my favorite friend here.

And politics has also made me put posters at arms reach. Not for what they believe in, but how they present themselves off and on board. I've seen their opinions be spewed on board and if one doesn't believe like they do, they are belittled and called names. Within a political thread is more understandable but when they bring their garbage venom out, eh...you're pretty much nil to me.

Dear King
Forgive me for raising the matter, but I can't let the tears I shed over the Classics be for nothing. Politics is derived from the Greek πολιτικός and means 'of the citizens'. Your woeful lack of classical knowledge is understandable, because you are so busy ruling stuff, so that's ok

Off with her head.

Wow, and such a classy substitute, too. :p

Politics - I never (well, very rarely) talk about politics with anyone here. It's a dangerous subject for me. In real life, I talk about it a lot - dinner table, with friends, with relatives (just not in-laws - they're bonkers).

I stay away from the topic with co-workers, and stay away from it with people I meet here. Can be too decisive of a topic for me, and I would like to remain friends with these people and/or have decent working relationships.

Now, religion, I'll talk about. . .

I mostly talk about my massive wang. Women just go crazy for it. So, obviously they all want to hear me talk about it.

Politics - I'm not in it so it doesn't mean anything to me.

Religion - I mostly like hearing women refer to me as their god.

:D

I'll answer my own question, because I'm a good king...

So, I don't really care about politics anymore. I don't belong to either of the main parties in our system, so I pretty much disagree with most things. And for me, it just doesn't mean much. I have a pretty cynical world view, because you get that way after ruling as king like I do, I just don't think that it makes a difference one way or the other who is in office. I know you people will disagree because I've been such a good king. But, I think it's really irrelevant. There used to be a day and a time where I followed and cared and it mattered. But it doesn't to me anymore.

And I've found this, over my years... Everyone thinks the other side is so awful. It's kind of sad. I mean, there are certain issues about which I do feel strongly. But I have no problem having a friend who disagrees, as long as they desire what they think is good. I think it's really sad that people ruin relationships and stuff over what a bunch of dipshits in Washington do.

Humble too. I give the people what they want.

I view politics as a device to trick the people into thinking they actually have a voice. Unless you're a politician, it's just noise to fill the silence. I'll talk about it, listen to it, laugh about it, wonder why so many people get worked up about it, and at the end of the day, I still know nothing was actually done about anything. The "my way or the highway" types are generally the same way with every subject, so I rarely have much to do with them anyway. I'd have no problem being in a relationship or friendship with someone with an opposing view. And I might occasionally poke an exposed nerve for a heated debate for the angry hate sex afterwards.

Kings, politics, religion..... Makes me feel like Moses, leading the people to the promised land...it's not my intent to leave anyone hanging or in need.

But it is my intent to provide thought provoking, mostly lit based questions. Sometimes I'm wide of the mark, and other times, spot on. So today I'll leave you to place this topic as you see fit.

Do you have Lit envy of anyone? Someone that carries themselves here in such a manner that leaves you impresed. No need to name names, of course :)

Yes, though I hadn't really thought about it before. There are a few here that seem to balance sexy, humor, snark, and compassion gracefully. They can be opinionated without offending others. I do envy that a bit. I trip over my tongue often and usually land knee deep in trouble when I do.

Ahaaaaa

There are some women I admire for their quick wit, or the two standout posters that write, leaving something golden every time with their genuine intent on goodness. That would be respieto and BlueEyedgent. I don't know either one of them, really, but their posts always catch my eye on how heartfelt they are.

I also envy funny people.

not sure I envy anyone here. I tend to believe that the funniest on here probably have been through quite a bit to get to their wit, and those who seem the smartest might not really be.

I  a few people, though
