**SPLOTCH** Dammit, I just stepped in a big pile of PDA. Somebody toss me a mop!
Beauty is beauty, it doesn't need to be broadcast. The snow capped Rockies are a beautiful sight, too beautiful for words, broadcast their magnificence doesn't add any value. No one needs to tell me a Mastepiece is one of the most beautiful things in the world, it just is.
PDAs are boastful, and full of "look at me attitudes". Be in love, be beautiful together, if I notice, I notice, if I don't the love is still there. And to a degree, PDAs can be a struggle for those that want to be in a loving relationship but for some reason aren't.
If I have that love, I feel no need to let the world know, the world isn't there when I'm holding her hand, or when we cuddle.
Maybe I'm Eastwood in Gran Torino, but it is my lawn...

I imagine Chained is one of those "Do as I say, not as I do"... Kinda docs...

Yes, it's your lawn, but you ASKED people these questions. Again, you've made your opinion known about the answers. IMHO it's time for someone to lighten up. *going back to my own lawn*
I didn't see a "love you baby doll" only a ditto. Chained's you're wielding the old PDA stick-in-the-mud again!
I'm all about telling the people I love that I love them be that friends, family, lovers, whatever. I don't give a rats arse if anyone else is offended by my love or my expression of it. Love should be clear and expressed if you ask me (I know you didn't but I don't care about that either!!!).
The notion that you should hide it away because for those not in love seeing people in love can be hard is just ridiculous to me. I buried my first child once and all around me were people with their babies all happy and full of life and joy. I didn't spite them because because they got the happy ending and I got to bury mine. Yes it was hard to be around and to cope with but it's reality and reality is hard on all sorts of levels, hiding joy away is no way to cure that hardness.
You never know when it might be the last time you get to say how you feel and I won't be silenced, damn it!!!![]()
Also... to the original question.... love at first sight, I don't believe in it. Except that one time I met Hugh Jackman before he was famous. THAT was love at first sight and it's been never ending. *dreamy sigh*

Butterflies, candy canes, unicorns, and the Holy Grail. Things we could discuss but it wouldn't be as meaningful or as passionate as the topics we usually discuss. I love the discourse that goes on in this thread, and the freedom that people feel to share their thoughts. From time to time things might get a little ramped up but I'll take that over apathy.
So for today's topic, let's discuss the virtues of abortion. JUST KIDDING EVERYONE, I'm not that crazy.
Actually, what are topics that you feel so passionate about you know it's best to not engage over them on the boards. Politics, abortion, fidelity, all things that most try to avoid because the passion on them run so deep. For me, gay marriage would be a topic I avoid. I'm in complete favor and know that trying to convince someone here at Lit wild be a pointless exercise.
What's your hot button topic.
(Please note, we won't be discussing the merits of these particular things)

You and I can just go have our own little love-in when we get banished! Actually there's already one in the HT Cafe.![]()

Politics for sure.
I'm quite passionate about politics in real life, and my politics have seeped into a post or two here and there, but it's a bad idea for me to engage much further.
I once mentioned on my pic thread that I was watching a specific news channel (and it wasn't MSNBC or FOX, so I naively thought it was OK to mention) and several people went nuts. It was the most benign comment - I just said I was watching news on lunch as I posted pics - no further commentary, but I got severe backlash.
So yeah, no political discussions for me. And oddly, I seem to attract men of the opposite leaning on a routine basis around here. Go figure.![]()
Politics and religion both fall into that category for me. I have some well-formed views on issues presented by both, and I'm happy to talk about those with individuals in a positive, constructive and open-minded spirit.Actually, what are topics that you feel so passionate about you know it's best to not engage over them on the boards. My two cents...on pda's....for what it's worth.....
There are two kinds of it in my mind. That which makes everyone around you wish you'd get a room and that which is just one person affirming their love for another. The first makes me uncomfortable and the second doesn't.
This may be tmi...but since I've known my hub he refuses to show any affection in public....so much so that he usually walks ahead of me. No hand holding...no peck on the cheek....nada.
Same if we have company. Over the years this has done damage...irreparable. I don't want huge pda's but small ones are nice....like treasured and sandman.
The big no-no topic for me is definitely religion. I have my own views on it, and if you are religious they WILL offend you. So I keep them to myself. Unless you try to shove religion down my throat... Then I fire a warning shot across your bow. And if you still don't shut up I will give you one more warning, then I will unleash some stuff that you just can't unhear. My beliefs tend to shake people's religious foundationsso I really, really try to keep them to myself!!
