Ive attempted to have some fun on Lit but don't have a mic or cam to use. It seems that most people want to hear your voice or see your face, which in my case might frighten them away.
Cybering is challenge if the action is delayed for some reason or another.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents.

Just popping in and laughing at all the humorous posts.

Once when I was newish, I was pmming a little scene with a guy and he told me I was doing it wrong and then proceeded to correct me. Really? Lol.

Wtf? I'm guessing that ended the convo!!

I remember years ago on the aol message boards and having a guy tell me cybering was stupid and he didn't get it... About three hours later he got it. :D

Back then it would be a "you play and I'll type and then we'll switch!" Cause RA is right... You can't play and type.

< Someone earlier said its about chemistry with phone sex and that's totally true... If it's not there it can't be forced. >

How common is it, do you think, for a text attraction to not hold up once it moves to phone?

Phone seems to be the choice du jour, but do people really want to cam their faces?!?!

I know it sounds weird, but I have a thing about people knowing my phone # if I dont really know them.

It was an interesting day in Litiquette-ville to say the least. But it's a new day, and time to move on. Most people believe in the concept of love at first sight. And if not love, then most definitely lust at first sight. Taking away from the premise that Lit is filled with sex crazed people that will fuck the first opportunity that comes their way, does Lit afford the opportunity to experience love/lust at first sight? I'm talking more than attraction here. Or is whole concept flawed by definition?

No, that would be difficult here or on any online forum.

I've had near-instant incredible chemistry here. I'd call it "lust at first PM" (well, pretty damn close to first PM anyway).

And yes, it makes for a great ride.

It can definitely happen. However I think only at a certain level. You can fall for the person you think they are, but is it really them?
I've used this term before..."you've fallen for the idea of me"....doesn't mean it's who I really am, it's who you want me to be based on my persona here.

Does that make sense or am I rambling?

that made perfect sense, Thandi. And. I suppose you *can* have immediate attraction, but as in RL....it's more mirage than reality.

I'd give examples, but don't want to break any rules with posting length.

I would like to read your examples....the OP can spank me for that if he objects. ;)

It makes perfect sense:) but I've also fallen for the' idea of a person in real life' and been .hurt because I thought I was a good judge of character'. People can misrepresent who they are anyplace.
Like Sam, I've had near instant 'lust at first p.m.' if you will. If I ever decided in my head it was love ..here or in rl....well...I'm not sure I'd admit it first....and I would guard myself until I felt sure....

I think you can certainly have instant chemistry and instant lust online - which is the first step toward instant love, so I imagine if a person was inclined toward love at first site, it could happen.

I'm not inclined that way. I've certainly had bouts of instant lust or instant attraction, but, at least for me, love is a far more complex weave that only develops over time and experience. I'm actually wary of instant (or even quick) love - I think when that happens it is far more likely to be about what is going on inside the person professing it than it is about what is going on between the two people.

The portions of our personalities that we expose online are generally just a slice of us. Fortunately, some of those slices can be highly amusing, engaging, entertaining and erotic.

I truly believe it does. However, most people here talk before they exchange pics, so the favour might be tilted a little bit, as a rapport has most likely been started already.

For those of you that know me hi all. :) For those that don't howdy.:)
Yes am breaking from the norm and am posting in a different thread. Well its a new day in so many ways.
So why not try something new.
As to can whether if lust/love can exist in Lit?
For me to answer that question correctly would bore y'all tremendously for all the obvious reasons. Know y'all don't need me to draw in crayons how close she and I are.
So as I was reading and thinking this morning appreciate and admire the responses y'all gave and the honesty expressed here.
So I will do my best to do the same.
I will say this and if SweetSam will allow me I will borrow part of her post.
It was "(best friends) at first PM."
Can lust be found in Lit?
Am sure lust can be found in lit and lust can lead to passion. And passion can lead to many fun and exciting things.
Can love be found in Lit?
Can't answer for others. But know I found mine.
Can best friends be found in Lit?
Easiest to answer. Yes it can.
Out side of here I can count on maybe 2 fingers those I call friends.
So yes she and I became best friends first lusters second lovers third and love birds fourth.
Just know I do enjoy to call others friends. Yes am probably one of the more quiet ones. But have been know to make others laugh occasionally.
Ask Treasured. Have been known to tickle her pink.
Love you Baby Doll.

I’ll buy lust at first sight. But I’ve seen it die pretty quickly once it’s object opens their mouth.

Love? I’ll have to agree with Paul and say it’s too multi-layered and complex for the “instant” label. That said, I do think it capable of rapid development. So many people seem to use lust and love interchangeably, particularly in the beginning of a relationship. For me, that makes love difficult to define.

I’ve never really considered the possibility of instant Lit love/lust via PM or post. But…after giving it long and earnest consideration :D…I’d give the possibility a thumbs up. On lust, anyway.

OK so here's my two cents on this whole topic that seems to pop up in various threads. Can lust/love really happen here.
I honestly think it depends on the couple. As everyone knows Sandman and I have been "a lit item" for two years. It started with one post and one private message saying thank you for sticking up for me on that one. We started chatting first here, then on yahoo, then via text and phone calls. We built a friendship first, getting to know each other's back grounds and history. Many people don't like to open up, I know this because I am one of them. I built a wall around my heart for years because of an abusive marriage. I would never talk about my childhood. Most had wonderful child hood memories. I didn't and never wanted to admit that to anyone. Sandman had the wall torn down in a few weeks as we would stay up all night talking on the phone. There isn't anyone that knows me better than he does. He knows me better than my sisters and my ex husband ever cared to know in the 20 years I was married to him.

Do I lust after Sandman? Yes when we are apart I miss his soft kisses, I miss his warm hands on my body, his hugs, his soft sigh after a kiss. He is a drug and I can say I am addicted and need a fix.

I won't sit here and say we have the perfect white picket fence relationship. No one does. We have our arguments like every other couple. As best friends we work through those arguments. He is probably the most patient man I have ever met. I can rave and rant and he just listens and says....now are you done....and in his calm voice talks through every bitch I had.

So back to the initial comment can lust happen here at first sight. Hell yeah it can. We get lost in a post or a picture and want to get to know that poster a little more. We are on an adult forum. We are all here for the same reasons.

Can love happen here? Only if you're willing to open up and build a foundation on friendship.
Many people here are just here for a break from reality, for a sexual escape.

Golden Silence once told me years ago, love happens in the damnedest places. And yes it can happen here of all places.

Communication is communication. It depends on how you use Lit, or the telephone, or a pen-pal letter, or face to face talking, as to what comes of it. I've been very attracted to people after an initial exchange in PM's, and I've also become very attracted after knowing each other for a long time mainly on the threads. There are people I barely remember talking to even though we were hot & heavy for a while years ago, and people that I am happy to count among my closest friends. The key to these relationships working out is of course, that you WANT them to, and that you are honest. Kinda like in real life, ya know?

There's not a doubt in my mind that something like that can happen. People connect in all kinds of different and wonderful ways.

Oh geez....get a grip, and acknowledge that what they have is beautiful.

So if you found that here, you wouldn't want to shout from the rooftops?

Beauty is beauty, it doesn't need to be broadcast. The snow capped Rockies are a beautiful sight, too beautiful for words, broadcast their magnificence doesn't add any value. No one needs to tell me a Mastepiece is one of the most beautiful things in the world, it just is.

PDAs are boastful, and full of "look at me attitudes". Be in love, be beautiful together, if I notice, I notice, if I don't the love is still there. And to a degree, PDAs can be a struggle for those that want to be in a loving relationship but for some reason aren't.

If I have that love, I feel no need to let the world know, the world isn't there when I'm holding her hand, or when we cuddle.

Maybe I'm Eastwood in Gran Torino, but it is my lawn...

Lol I totally know what you mean and generally I agree. I've kind of softened on it as I get older but in principle I know what you're saying.

Also, awesome Eastwood reference. :D
