My personal, RL views on PDAs...

I will hold her hand in public, I've been known to slide my hand over her ass as I hold the door open for her, I will kiss her on the cheek or on the lips when the moment moves me to. I wil call her honey, baby, sweets, and a view other names that shall stay private, I will cuddle as we lay on the couch watching a movie, and I will hug her anytime, anywhere she sheds a tear. I always end evey phone call or text string with an "I love you" when I'm away.

It's all about appropriateness for the situation we're in.

My two cents...on pda's....for what it's worth.....
There are two kinds of it in my mind. That which makes everyone around you wish you'd get a room and that which is just one person affirming their love for another. The first makes me uncomfortable and the second doesn't.
This may be tmi...but since I've known my hub he refuses to show any affection in public....so much so that he usually walks ahead of me. No hand holding...no peck on the cheek....nada.
Same if we have company. Over the years this has done damage...irreparable. I don't want huge pda's but small ones are nice....like treasured and sandman.

Unbelievable, Ruby. I'm so sorry to hear this.

I'm a groper. That's all I'm gonna say.

Thanks Sam...after all this time I've my own solution...a childish one maybe...but it is what it is.

*flashes brad hoping for a gratuitous display of nauseating affection* lol

Oh my. :D

I'm a hands on kinda guy.

So perhaps PDA is the thing you should not engage in conversations about :p

Hi :)
I find that every time I talk about music people have pretty strong opinions about certain types like rap, county and classical.

topics I don't get involved in? Politics and Religion. Unlikely to convince each other anyway, so, in my opinion, it's breath and time wasted.

There are a few triggers here that get my goat...and it usually involves someone being an ass just for the sake of being an ass.

This happens in a couple threads I frequent, and I'm not afraid to jump in a call you a jackass if needed...

I mean, I'm pretty direct ( in case you haven't noticed ;)), but some things that are said are just flat out mean. Anonymity is not a substitute for manners, although apparently not everyone online got that memo.

That's true. I don't know why people hate so much when it comes to music. There's something to be said for all genres of tunes.

:D

I don't get it either, I wouldn't expect to like or have everyone like all the same music, it's so subjective. I can't understand the backlash that society brings on people for liking or not liking a certain song or type. It's like shaming them into hiding.

Also, there isn't one hot button topic that I won't discuss, if I have clear knowledge to add anything to the discussion.

I know...and it goes both ways...there's somewhat of a big bit of snobbery as to what we're supposed to like. I can't read Rolling Stone for precisely that reason.

Uh, have you heard Nickelback?!?!

I'm up for almost anything to discuss. If it's among my friends, I'm good with almost anything. I don't try to change people's minds though, as that turns nasty.

Plus the people who don't believe like I do are fucking idiots. :D

I am pretty much up to talk about anything, as long as the conversation is pleasant and enjoyable. When it turns ugly, I just tend to drift away.

Happy Monday. I'll try and make today's topic a little lighter.

You've been dating awhile now. You and your lover have progressed things along and you've been asked to stay the night. You're thrilled because it signals the next step in the relationship. But.....the pillows at your lover's place suck, and no matter how you try, you just can't get used to them. How long do you go before you tell your lover?

And to avoid simply being labeled a thread derailer with the above post, I'll say I would just offer to bring my own pillows. I'd say, "Rainshine, your pillows are shit. And you don't even have decorative pillows laying around. I'll bring my own sleeping pillow and decorative pillows."

I don't get. There would be no waiting. Why walk on eggshells over this?

If I was 'asked to stay the night' I think I would be well acquainted with the pillow situation before actual sleep time arrived. So, if the pillows sucked, and I hadn't yet mentioned it, he would know when I pinched his to add to mine. And, being worthy of my time and body, he'd want me to be comfortable in his home. If he wanted me to stay, he'd find a temporary solution to his problem. And we would find a more long term solution come morning.

By the way, I'm away from home caring for someone right now, and propped up on my own pillow.

:rose::rose:Finally, a little while ago, Chained resolved to have more fun on the threads and he has now broken tradition and put himself out there as a romantic man who regularly indulges in PDAs:eek:, as appropriate, in his real life.
Once I got over the shock of the out of the blue revelation, I realised it was a rare, genuine insight to the man behind the curtain, and yet it was mostly ignored. I thought it sounded just very gentlemanly and adoring. And I am sure each gesture is appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

This question for me is more about... How comfortable am I with my lover? Nudge nudge. Hey! What's up with the crap pillow
I wouldn't be with someone I wasn't totally comfortable with. I would probably try to solve the problem myself, and then ask for help immediately if I couldn't. And then be a smart ass if he couldn't :D I'm a kind of person who tends to raise comfort levels quickly though. I don't have time for awkwardness or silent suffering...

It's the first night over at her place ... what on earth are we doing sleeping?!?!

Well, assuming things went well enough that I wanted to make a return visit, I’d probably say something that night. A playful, pillow complaint during the happy post-coital haze portion of the evening ought to do the trick. At least if he expects to get me into bed a second time. ;)

Ahhh. I’m such a noob to the thread I didn’t realize this was a rare occurrence. :(

For Chained. :rose::rose:
