I'd like to go back to a topic Aquagal brought up, and that's what to do with information about people's Lit relationships. My hunch is that Lit will be no different than RL, where that type of information is rarely disclosed. Rightly or wrongly, the tendency is to not share. Should we or shouldn't we.......

I am a vault...a vault I tell ya. Nothing told to me in confidence is disclosed to another (unless they want it to be )

Gary Larson who drew The Far Side comics was once asked if he had ever gone for psychoanalysis, he said no, he didn't want to ruin a good thing.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this!

I post here to keep in touch with some of the fellow interesting Litsters that post here...but I don't see the point in going quite so deep into it to be honest.

I don't see it as analyzing Lit. I see this thread as making people think. Sure the one word answer threads can be fun, but let's have some some interesting, intriguing conversation as well.

I agree with Thandi. Also, the Lit forum is the one thing that we all have in common so, by definition, it's a conversation that's accessible to all.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are some interesting comments on here, there are. It is also interesting to raise certain issues and hear what people have to say about them.

Thandi is right that it makes a change to the one word threads, and it brings out the people with more 'substance' too, rather than the one word nuckle dragging stalkers that love Lit too!

I just think sometimes, it borders on self righteousness, and that bothers me a little...but not enough clearly to stop me posting!

On the whole, I think you are all thoroughly nice people!

The great thing about Lit is that there are approx. 593 other active threads one can post on. If this one doesn't float your boat I'm sure there are other ones that will. But please don't come into the thread and begin to post why this thread doesn't work for you. Would you ever walk into a friend's house and proceed to tell them all the reasons you wouldn't have bought it?

Chill your boots mate. I would argue that this kind of conversation is exaclty what the thread is about, bouncing ideas and opinions. No one is being rude, or insulting to anyone else. No one said it was a bad thread....just talking about the thread.

After a drink, we might say something to the hostess like, "are you hiring someone to do the painting or are we going to need to plan another party?"

Glad we're all good....there are enough silly squabbles on other threads..and we don't want to upset the good vibe on this one. As I said, I think that pretty much everyone on here is pretty darn awesome!

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I agree with Thandi. This is the only thread in the PG where I feel welcome, and I enjoy reading everyone's thoughts on these topics. It's fun to have more meaningful conversations here, and I wish there were more threads like it.

You're right, the rude ones on here piss me off too....when I hear some of the messages you lovely ladies get sent, I just despair!!

And I agree also, that it is sad that the very lovely, and very beautiful, SweetSam can't be comfortable elsewhere!
