After you've been around lit for awhile, people can get a "been there, done that" attitude. It's only natural that we refine our wants & needs as we move through the maze of Lit. Early days are often "any where, anytime" periods before the novelty wears off. But through it all, how do you keep Lit fresh and worth coming back for. How do you make sure it doesn't get stale, boring, or repetitive?
I think you get out of it what you put into it. If you don't have an "I'm entitled, come and entertain me attitude" then I think there are still many talented and interesting people to meet. It take an effort on both parts.....of course I don't claim to be any type of expert on anything. That might just get too boring, stale and repetitive

My trick is pretty straightforward - I don't come here all the time. I often go other places for days or weeks at a time. That way, for me, when I come back there is a lot of stuff to read, a lot of pictures to look at, a lot of conversations to catch up on. If I do come frequently, I kind of just pop in and out.

For the first time on this thread I had no idea what was going on. Sure, I was out enjoying corned beef and cabbage but I came back, looked and thought "wow, what the hell are they talking about".
If this wasn't my thread, I'd have moved on.
So......am I in the wrong side of the bell curve here? How many of you were lost and moved on?
I'm not trying to dictate conversation here, as I've always allowed free speech to flourish. I've just never been this lost
