Squeaking out the few last hours of the weekend, I paused to wonder "Why". Why do we all do this? Why have we all chosen Lit as our place to gather? As newbies, we most likely read the stories. Then we stumbled here. The interactions intoxicating. But why? What is it about this place that has a hold on us?

I stumbled over lit a few years ago when a forum I frequented mentioned it. I kind of forgot aboutIt until I went back and my regular place was shut down. I happened to be searching out an answer to some questions I had a lit popped up again. At first I read the stories and at heart Im curious. The more I can absorb the more I want...and lit offered info in what fascinates me;)
It's only a small leap from reading and lurking to the playground.
I keep coming back because lit satisfies a part of me I've always thought I had to hide...had doubts about....guilt even. I've stayed because it's entertaining and a bit of validation that I'm not 'the only one' who feels a certain way.

I just came because I heard there was a great happy hour. Next thing I know... ;)

This is my second chat. The first one I was on, was a nature chat....family friendly. You really had to watch what you said, and well....I sort of wanted to have fun too. The old ladies kept giving me lectures. I like the freedom of speech here. It's nice to be able to talk like the perverted adults that we are. :)

I have nothing more to add other than I just read your Sig quote...and it struck a note with me. It's beautiful....and true!!

I came for the stories... Stayed for the audios. .Interestingly enough my first "Editor" directed me to the forums. We had been discussing a rather cathartic piece I had written and how to switch it up so that there could be a bit of sexy/happy going on. I brought up my body issues among other things, and he directed me to the forum to prove to me that BBW lovers really existed. I did a little housekeeping on a few threads, created a few of my own, and never looked back.

I appreciate Lit for it having a little something for everyone.

Eons ago, I moved up from reading the stories and began posting on the General Board...back when it was as much of a welcoming community as the Playground has ever been. That progressed to just as regular of posting on the SRP board until a regular co-writer felt the need to leave. After that, I took a pretty long break from the boards. When returned, the tone of the General Board had changed, and most of my friends had moved on. I ventured into the Playground and made some new friends and now I visit irregularly. Apparently I have offended some people, because since the Summer, some people that I had enjoyed talking to and which I would have called friend have been aloof and non-responsive in threads and to posts. However, I still like the game threads, picture threads, and various other random threads, so I, still here, plugging on.

Thanks. I'm very thankful for the special ones I've met that have done that for me.

Yep, I read the stories first....had been doing that for years, and I can't remember how I found them in the first place. And one night I thought I'd look for someone to chat with, found the forum, and posted on a thread on the General Board. I knew there was a forum, but I'd never even looked at it. After a little more poking around, I found the Playground....and I stayed because I liked the people here.

I don't think it has a *huge* hold on me...I can go a day or two without posting, and large blocks without posting much at all, and not miss it. But there *is* something! because I keep coming back. It's the people I know here - the ones I've let into my real life, and the ones I know only on the board. And that I can be completely myself with those people...gutter humor, flirty girl, sex goddess  lol!!

When it stops being fun, I won't come here anymore...that's what I'm looking for from it, and I keep finding it. :)

I came here to help some friends from an other site in their battle for free speech on the german boards. I posted a story. Read some. Looking around at the other boards I found the Playground. And from there on the reasons the others already gave apply.

Monday fonday, right? ;)

After you've been around lit for awhile, people can get a "been there, done that" attitude. It's only natural that we refine our wants & needs as we move through the maze of Lit. Early days are often "any where, anytime" periods before the novelty wears off. But through it all, how do you keep Lit fresh and worth coming back for. How do you make sure it doesn't get stale, boring, or repetitive?

You starting this thread has helped enormously!!!

Ive never been able to freely talk about sex, so I used the internet to answer my questions.

Then I found Lit, and that one sided info became a discussion.

Lit helped me get over my body issues, plus I found a place to 'let my hair down'
(ie pull the stick out of my ass and loosen up)
