Lists suck, big time. And it ain't because I'm not on them.

Everytime I see a "list" thread on the BB, I think "high school" and People magazine.. Who is popular and who isn't just doesn't cut it for me, especially because I find it to be exclusive, rather than inclusive. I believe that if you truly like someone there is no need to take out an ad in a newspaper or create a thread about them. Send them an email or a pm and make your felings known to them that way. Unless, of course, you are looking for something more in return.

What about all the little" people on the BB who never make it to any of these lists?? Does anyone really care about them?? Or is it so necessary to stroke each others egos publicly that we loose sight of how it feels to be excluded from the "in" crowd.

Lists suck, big time. But they will never go away because humans need to have their egos stroked. Who's the sexiest? Who's the best dressed?? Who's the wittiest?? Who's pretty and who's not??

Here's my list: I love you all; some more than others.

Lists

Its true lists are everywhere. I remember going to school and seeing my name on all of the lists. For not doing my homework, or not doing well on a test. Dont teachers know we have feelings. I guess not.

Not every morning before I start my day I always check the obituaries. To make sure I didnt make that list.

I rather like lists. I make them all the time.

I even like seeing lists here. I think that folks who make a big deal about them are making a lot over nothing much at all. No offense meant, but that's how I see it.

See, most lists I see here are very personal. They're about one person posting about folks who are important to them, for whatever reason, at that moment. That's all. It's nothing worth getting all bent about. It's about giving a positive vibe and not giving a negative one. We can all use that.

I've made very few lists hereabouts and I can handle that. My self-image can take it. I'm thankful for the lists I did make, because they meant something to me. They gave me a smile, and that's always worth doing.

If you don't make someone's list this week, it'll happen in time. Everyone is on someone's list. :)

Yes.
We know you have feelings.
NBut we *like* to crush them like the insignificant little annoyances they are.
They teach us how to do that in Teacher's School, you know. It's a required skill before we get a job actually trying to teaching anyone anything.
