I downloaded Trillian a few weeks ago, and once I realized that I had to disable my firewall when I signed on, it was working fine.

All of a sudden yesterday, I had a problem with it and got booted from Trillian. I tried to sign back on again, but it wouldn't connect to any of my screenames. I rebooted, but it still didn't work. I unistalled and reinstalled both AIM and Trillian, and then only one of my AIM screenames worked- my two Yahoo names were fine. I then signed onto AIM and reconfigured it to my server, thinking that that may have helped my connection with Trillian somehow (don't ask me how- I just thought it might help). Well, it didn't- I can still only sign onto my Yahoo names and one specific AIM name.

Has anyone had this problem with Triliina, nad what the hell can I do about it?

By the way, this is the message that I get when I toggle the status window:

Creating connection "****"
*** You have successfully connected to the AOL Instant Messenger service.
*** Fatal error (couldn't receive flap): Error Code 0
*** Disconnecting.
*** Reconnecting to AIM as "l****".
*** Will attempt 10 connections with 60 second intervals.

Minx it's not worth the trouble. I shit canned it months ago. It was more trouble than it was worth. Everytime I logged on it would screw up my settings.

Try a pm to Dillinger or Weird Harold, miss nice tit picture?

Eh, I'd rather wait until someone who knows Trillian well sees this. C'mon, I know you're out there somewhere!

i had trillian act similarly a number of times. drove me up the wall.
I'd say, go up to their website and see if they have a patch/new version up that fixes it. often, others are having the same problem. The excuse/reason that I heard last time it did that to me was that AIM was trying to block trillian users because they want users to use their own platform so their ads get shown... who knows though.

Good Luck with it!

Hey All,
I tried Trillian a few months ago. And I liked it at first, but after awhile I decided it wasn't worth the headache to use it. I tried using MSN Messenger's webcam thing, and it wouldn't allow me to use it. And when i tried turning just MSN on, it would lock up my computer. I still have problems with Yahoo and MSN, and I think alot of my problems stem from Trillian. It was a fun program for all the little faces and sounds, but after that, it only made it easier to log onto the rest of the programs...thats about all I found it good for. My advice, lose it and stick with the original programs. :)

*bump- I e-mailed support and they told me to dl something, but when I did, it asked me what program I wanted to open it with, and I had no clue. I e-mailed them again, and still haven't gotten an answer.

PLEASE someone help! I really need Trillian for reasons I'd rather not disclose.

I think they mean which messenger (Yahoo/AIM/MSN, for example), when they ask what program you want to open with it.
