If you don't like "Happy Holidays" in place of "Merry Christmas"...

...consider that us atheists in the United States have to work to earn money with "In God We Trust" on it, all year long.

So, cry us a river. We think your discomfort is hysterical.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wtf is wrong with you GB liberals?
Why do you keep pissing on your own heritage and culture?

Anyone who chooses to be offended by "Merry Christmas" has issues that will never be solved.

I'm pretty sure only one other person in this thread (at this point) might interpret the OP as saying they are offended by "Merry Christmas," and I don't think many give much credence to their statements. Instead, I think most of us agree that people who get outraged when you say happy holidays instead of "Merry Christmas" are the ones who are offended too easily.

Merry Whatever the fuck you need it to be to keep your panties out of a wad Day! I'm thankful for the time off from work and excuse to see family.

Are you not aware that Christians are only slightly over 31% of the world's population, so...

WTF is wrong with you, assuming everyone has a Christian holiday as part of their heritage and culture?

This ^^

If you don't believe in Christ you might as well stick to Happy Holidays.

"Merry Christmas" ain't no important part of it. Hell, before the 19th Century most Americans didn't even celebrate Christmas, they had a Protestant prejudice against it as a Popish holiday. There was a time in early Massachusetts when celebrating Christmas was actually illegal.

It wasn't always a sentimental family holiday, either. In Merrie England, the well-to-do used to lock their doors and shutter their windows on Christmas, which to the masses was an occasion for drunken rioting.

The people who get upset by Xmas because, you know, its a Jewish conspiracy, what with the X resembling a cross and all that, are the same ones who believe Hillary CLinton's running a pedophile ring out of a Pizza Joint.

Merry Jewmas to all of them

I like "season's greetings" best, but it's a little awkward in conversation. I hate saying Merry Christmas, because people constantly stop to thank me for using it, like I've performed some great service to humanity. If I don't think ten minutes of my time will be taken up taking about it, then I'll use it.

Desperately seeking recognition for knowledge of totally useless information...

I always liked "Swinging Saturnalia!" i.e. "Shit! I hope the sun doesn't get any smaller! Oh hey! It's coming back! Let's fuck!"

"Happy Holidays!" is rather ambiguous. Every day is a holiday somewhere. For others, try the Spring Equinox fertility rites surrounding Passover / Easter Week (bunnies and eggs aren't there by chance, y'know), and harvest-time post-Autumn Equinox bacchanals.

"Merry XMas" in wintertime is quite misplaced -- the alleged nativity occurred somewhere around the Summer Solstice. XMas in Oz and Kiwiland with bikinis etc is more appropriate.

"Have a festive season!" should be bland enough for all except fundy jeezoids.

Sounds like you need a "safe space" away from political correctness.

Sorry it hurts your feelings so much. :(
