If Trump really has tapes of his OO conversations . . .

The guy's in show biz. He can edit those recordings a dozen ways to make them match whatever he wants his story to be.

What, you think he ever did his own editing?

Of course, he could simply burn the tapes (or whatever storage medium was used). Even Nixon was too scrupulous to do that, but there's nothing Trump wouldn't do.

. . . as he hinted in a tweet directed at Comey, then of course Congress can subpoena them. And recording conversations is a thing he does have a history of doing, pre-presidency, so he probably does have them. What would they reveal, I wonder?

It actually goes beyond that, since I don't believe the dinner conversation would have taken place in the Oval Office.

Ordinarily I'd think this was bluster, except for a couple of things: one, Trump's history of surreptitious recordings, listening in on phone conversations at Mar-a-Lago etc, which has been attested to in numerous stories; and two, his tweet accusing Obama of tapping his phones. Trump likewise has a long and neurotic track record of using Twitter to accuse other people of behavior that he engages in himself.

I counted eighty-six people involved with sound production for The Apprentice. He would only need one.

If Congress gets that tape, that's it for Trump. Write up the articles of impeachment and get it over with.
Listen to the tape later.
