How is it that God above
Has never gone on strike
Because he was not treated fair
In things He didn't like.

If only once He'd given up,
And said, 'That's it, I'm through!
I've had enough of those on earth,
So this is what I'll do;

I'll give my orders to the sun -
'Cut off the heat supply!'
And to the moon - 'Give no more
Light, and run the ocean dry.'

Then just to make things really tough
And put the pressures on,
'Turn off the vital oxygen
Till every breath is gone!'

You know, He would be justified
If fairness was the game.
For no one has been abused
Or met with more disdain

Than God, any yet He carries on
Supplying you and me
With all the favors of His grace
And everything for free.

Men say they want a better deal
And so on strike they go.
But what a deal we've given
To God to whom all things we owe.

We don't care whom we hurt
To gain the things we like.
But what a mess we'd all be in
If God should go on strike!!

That's not true, gawdess -

I went to an interminable pagan wedding two weeks ago, and they wouldn't stop babbling about you. My Catholic youth saw faster ceremonies, even when the priest railed on for half an hour about abortion. Tell those high priestesses to get down a little, ok?

I keep on telling them to get laid or drunk or something.

I don't think half of those whiny little chicas could have made it through the dark ages.

Catholicism as interpretted by Dr. Suess. Explains a lot. Other Lost Books of the Bible from Todd's library:

One Fish, Two Fish, Three Fish, Seventeen Thousand Fish
The Cat in The Hat Comes Back From the Dead
The Lamb of God Who Takes Away the Sins of the World in Socks
Green Eggs and Abraham

Ok, from what I remember of church (I have not been in about 9 years so bear with me please) God is everything and all. So there for, even though time passes for us, he is the same in all moments, and if he decided to strike, we would feel it for all moments all at once, meaning that he would have gone on strike even before Cain killed Able, Eve got a bad rap, and Adam went along willingly. So there would be no universe, and we all really wouldn't care because we would be less than nothing, because to have nothing you must have its counter balance something, and we know that would be impossible if (in the reasoning I remember) God did not create it. So, Basically, he would not have done anything, not have gotten tired, not gone on strike, and then we would still be here. Ok, Gawdess, where do I sign to be on your universe? I don't want to even start thinking about who God would present his grievences to.
