Hey there, Dingus!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, couldn't see your post for the wood around here. :D

Thanks for the offer, honey! I might ask a bit more info about that. Although, I do feel I am getting over the worst of it.

And, yes, I know that story well. Seen it in Cat's Eye, too. I'd forgotten all about it, though. Thanks for the reminder, I'll look it up again.

Lou

Any time. It pretty much is simple- you read or listen. Then I guide your subconscious and reinforce the accomplishments you have all ready made. Hypnosis can be better explained at www.hypnosis.com You are doing fine on your own, but if you feel like the temptation is too great, look me up and I will help you. The hard part now is keeping the weight off, so watch out for that. One vice for another. :rose:

Congrats on week 1.

Here's a hug for week 2. Be strong.

Lime

PS Love the new T-shirt. Need to get on for Mrs. Lime. I'll have to see if they sell them on this side of the pond.:rose:

Thanks, Lime. I love those hugs.

I'm feeling very strong! We went to a pub this aftertoon, had a bite to eat and a couple of pints, and I still didn't give in. Admittedly, a ciggie would've been nice, but NO! They are BAD! ;)

Lou - a non-smoker. ;)

P.S. Thanks for the words on the T shirt, good luck with finding one for the Mrs.

Day 8: Wow! A whole week without, now that's something to bray about, isn't it. The lungs are starting to expand as they did years ago when you run now. And running isn't nearly as exhausting, even though you managed to squeeze in a little extra milage. He, ha. What a great day to be alive. And in three weeks you'll have made it a month without. Ah yes, life is indeed grand. But wait, what's this? A friend who doesn't know that you've quit offers you one of theirs smokes? Or they light one up in your house, and ask where the ash trays are? What do you do now? Well, hell, that's easy. Show there them nature's big ole ashtray. Yes, the great out doors. Now if you don't want to end up insulting an old friend you'd better get a NO SMOKING sign posted to ever entrance of your home. This way everyone will know what to expect when they enter your house from now on. It is the polite thing to do after all.

Thanks again for the great words, Dirt Man.

You are right, it is a great day to be alive. I'm feeling GREAT! :D

As I said, in my previous post, I put myself to the test today. There were people smoking all around us, and I still didn't give in to the lure of the beast.

I won't bother with the sign, but I will say, "If you think you're lighting up in my house, you've got another thing coming. So there." :p

Just poking my head in to Katie's thread. So glad you stopped sucking that little white tubular thing.

Here is to keeping your lips clean!

That almost sounds perverted.

Phil

Thanks, Phil.

That was very sweet of you. As you know, perverted to me isn't a bad thing. :D

Way to go, Lou. I know it wasn't easy but don't think you have it totally beaten yet. The worst of the physical part should be over but there are still the triggers to contend with. Keep remembering how much better you feel and how you will disappoint all the people who are wishing you the best, including me. ( ) :rose:

Thanks, Box.

You're great! You've really helped to keep me on the straight and narrow over the past week.

I really will bear that in mind.

As for the weight, I'm doing all I can to counter-act that. Running and workouts with weights and my abs bar, for starters. I've got a very gruelling run planned for tomorrow morning.

Katie,

I went out last night, had a pre-dinner martini and for once didn't find myself fumbling for a pack of smokes, only to remind myself I've quit. It seems to be getting easier.

Supportively,
Lime

Nice one!

I can't wait to reach that stage. Won't be long now, but those weeks are gonna drag!

Lou :rose:

You know something Katie,

You always have the brightest smile in your Av Looking at it now besides the light blinding my vision a little from behind your head. I just can't picture you with a disgusting piece of rolled crud drapping from your lip.

It really don't fit your look, Me on the other hand it is my look but I can get by I think with out it.

Hi Lou,

Day 9 if I counted correctly. I couldn't cheer you yesterday since I threw a big party. As I walked in the party area, the first thing I noticed was this packet of cigs. That was a though moment for maybe ten seconds. But I did not give in.

Take that as a warning for you that you'll have to stay alert for a long time, but you'll get better at it every time you said no to yourself.

The workout is smart, I had to lose a lot, I mean a whole lot 44 pounds of weight after I quit smoking.

Three cheers for Lou: hip, hip, hurray, hurray, hurray

Hi, Lou. I'm really glad to se you are still with it. Personally, when I quit smoking, I had to quit drinking at the same time. This didn't bother me that much and it was probably the best thing I ever did for myself. Be careful with the drinking, though, because that is one of the strongest triggers of all, especially if the people around you are smoking.

Thanks for your continued support, everyone, it means a heck of a lot to me.

I've not had such a good day today, but I haven't given in - I have been chewing lots of gum, though.

I'm glad there aren't any smokes in the house, otherwise I would've had more than a few. Do I really mean that? Hmmm, not sure.

Yayyy! Indeed!

Nearly on day ten. :D

I've been feeling it more today, physically. Bloody wierd, my arms have been aching.

Then again, it could be something to do with the weights I've been lifting. ;)

I know what you need, a little bit of our Challenge Club to get your mind off these troubling moments. A new challenge should be posted soon. It might be a nice distraction for you. :rose:

Hehehe! Thanks for the suggestion. I keep meaning to look in there and join in, but I always have so much on the go, writing wise.

I'll see if I've caught up on my back-log in a week or two. ;)

Katie,
This is a good time to smell an old used ash-tray. Remind your self of the smell that stench and the messy ashes. Think of the gooey tar running down your throat into your lungs. Making you gag for a breath of air.

Keep all the pleasing memories very vivid. The butt sticking to your chapped lips. Smoke in your eyes burning like satan's spit as you try to do anything. Dropping the ashes around the ash-tray making burn marks. Filling your childrens lungs with second hand smoke. Any other fond memories of your life with a cigarette.

Don't forget all the times you thought you enjoyed a smoke you could have enjoyed that same exact moment with out a smoke. Maybe more!

Stay strong you sweet thing!

Hi, Lou.
That is probably a good idea, sort of an aversion therapy kind of thing. Other than that, you should probably stay away from cigarets and smokers. After a while, cigaret smoke will make you gag, just like it did before you started smoking but intil then it might weaken your resolve.

May I add my admiration to your new t-shirt and your AV?

  :rose: :rose:
