Honesty on the Lit boards

i know this thread is an older one...but Im glad it got bumped up again.Most of the posts(with the exception of a few asshats have been very well thought )


I have so much to say on this,,,BUT,,for now I will just stick with this.YES there have been many many liars and players on here.SOme long gone,,,some still here.I have thought about naming and shaming a few,,,BUT decided against it
There have been some heartbreaks on here and my heart goes out to you if you have been hurt by anyone here
It is a lot like life,,,people lie in real life to,,,sad but true.

What I find most interesting--at least in my case--is that I do not have to be honest, as long as I am clear about not being honest and not deceptive about it ---for whatever it is worth

This is an awfully cynical thing to say and I wholeheartedly disagree with it. Honesty may hurt at times but I would rather have it than my illusions. Eventually illusions, or the breaking thereof, end up hurting worse than honesty anyway.

Although Ryan your comment isnt a bad one.. if your going to be here and not be truthfull, then thats fine as long as everyone you talk to knows it..

Ok most people come on here for fun and a bit of escape. If you are lucky, you might meet people that you like.... and this can be good or bad thing just like the people in one might meet when you are not on Lit or the internet. If you think about it, people in our lives can be dishonest and dont tell us everything and Lit is no different.

That said, for those who are purposely on here and they all they do is use and consume others, karma is a bitch.

That's the thing about honesty-- you express yourself gently if you can--and you can't worry about being liked or not. That's not the point. You either be sincere, or you're lying. It _is_ that black and white IMO.

Why would some one do that just the fuck over some poor guys head or even a Bi female thinking she is getting on with another female only she is not...It that a thrill to screw over an innocent person, what a sick mind. I see many folks on Lit just doing their best to make though a day....Honesty iy is useful as is in real world.

It's so frustrating to run into someone who is here to just use others! It's also so refreshing to meet someone who's honest! Luckily, most I've met here have been true - I think.?. That's the tough part - figuring it out.

That is horrible! Unfortunately there are a few sick puppies on here. As a female, I definately check out who is sending me PM's or 'wanting to get to know me better'. Seems that no one can be too careful.

I think it's quite easy to be swayed emotionally by some people...b/c the internet largely affords a vail of anonymity. Having said that tho, I'm still a bit puzzled by some behaviour I've seen on the lit boards, sheerly for the fact that Lit isn't really a traditional "match dating" site (whatever you choose to call it)...not that it makes those who choose to be duplicit any less guilty.

I think once a person has been "played" it makes it that much harder for the next person to get to know them, it can have a long lasting impact.
