Every time a woman gets mad at you in one of your threads (most of which are attacking women in one way or another), you think that we have anger issues with men.

Sit down, child, let me explain this:

You are an idiot. You flame women all day long. And then when one of us gets mad at you, it really is YOU we're mad at, not men. You don't deserve the name 'Man', you deserve the title 'boy'. Our anger or resentment, or whatever the hell you want to call it is specifically directed towards you, not towards the male gender as a whole.

Get that through your thick skull.

And one other thing: coming from someone who flames women in each of his threads, I'm guessing YOU could be the one with anger issues towards the opposite gender.

And the word 'Sapphism' is an insult to any ancient history student. Sappho was a poet, and she was from Lesbos. She had a daughter, and it was not confirmed that she was a lesbian. Her poetry seems very loving towards women, yes, but scholars believe that she wrote that more from mentor to protege. The woman died by throwing herself off a cliff when her MALE lover refused her. So don't attach the name of Sappho to tribadism or lesbianism unless you know what the fuck you're talking about. That abuse of a great name and a great word. Sapphism is like Buddhism, in that those who are Sapphists follow the romantic ideals, and the passion of Sappho, not that they're lesbians.

I don't mean to be piling on here, but I think his anger is due to the fact that he can't get laid. It all goes back to that wonderful old cliche:

A slut is a woman who fucks everyone, a bitch is a woman who fucks everyone but you.

He probably has this tattoed on his butt.

Vixenshe,

I wanted to comment on the word Sapphism. Sapphism has become a common word to describe lesbianism. Whether or not you feel this is inaccurate is besides the point. Language changes and evolves over time. Frimost used the word correctly in his post.

Merriam-Webster's
Word for the Wise

Script for September 5, 1997

A listener responded to our program on female eponyms with a note about the word sapphism, coined from the name of Sappho, the Greek lyric poet who lived on the island of Lesbos around 600 B.C.

In Sappho's day, it was the custom for upper-class women to meet informally and spend much of their leisure time composing and reciting poetry. Sappho, married to a man of wealth, presided over one of these coteries on Lesbos and shared her poetry with her intimates.

The poetry of Sappho has been praised for its power and beauty since early classical times. One of her recurrent themes was the love of one woman for another, love that ranged from gentle affection to sexual passion. Ancient critics, who knew her poetry from a large body of work now mostly lost, say that Sappho herself was homosexual. Indeed, because of the intimacy conveyed by her poetry, it has been traditionally assumed that Sappho was expressing her personal feelings.

However, little is really known about Sappho's personal life, and today her works survive mostly in fragments. In the nineteenth century, the sexual proclivities alleged of Sappho and her companions fostered development of a homosexual sense for the word lesbian (which had until then been used only in reference to the island Lesbos) and also gave birth to a new word, synonymous with lesbianism: sapphism.

I offered to pay for a hooker for him. He didn't respond. I've never seen a more needy male. It's sad really. I'm all about the pity.

You know he wouldn't except. He'd just yell at you and throw the hooker down at your feet and stomp off.

Unless it was a North Korean army hooker.

Then he'd be game, I'll wager.

I  Classical World students.
A good thing about studying Classical world is that students' gender ratio is 10-1. It was great to be surrounded by all those potential CV lesbians.

You know what would get him off? A North Korean Lesbian that drives a T-34 who wears a strap-on that would shoot fake gooey flavored jizz all over his face.

He'd marry a chick like that.

Yeah, but eventually he'd come to believe she was a "suave deceiver" especially when she told him she had to leave to go follow the army on maneuvers.

Then, he'd leave her, and tell all his buddy(s?) that she was "just a lyin' North Korean army whore-bitch" and he was going back to his job at Wal-Mart to try and woo that blonde girl who would be hot if she would only loose that last ten lbs.

That fucking fat bitch. She's always dissing him.

You forgot to mention killing all the sharks and racist crocodiles.

Actually, after running a few tests I've determined that it is not necessary for a woman to get mad at him: if a woman expresses a difference of opinion with him, that is enough to prove her intense hatred and loathing for all things male.

Other research indicates that, for men, having a different opinion from Frimost proves you're a racist.

Sadly, it turns out that the population of Lit is nearly entirely made up of racists and manhaters. It's no wonder he's so angry all the time.
