exercise - motivation/advice

Good Morning to everyone here...hope you don't my jumping in here...

DID EVERYONE EAT THEIR BREAKFAST??????? Hmmmmmm?????

I have used this tape for ages for working out...talk about some really quick results...after about the third time you actually see and feel it.

Calanetics

The more the merrier, YYYY. I'll have to check that tape out. I'm not sure the people below me in the apartment building would like it :D , but that's ok.
I'm so tired today. It good to come on here and go, "ok, just 30 minutes". Off to work now. talk to everyone later.

hey snasu popped in to see how you're doing hey wanna burn some calories ;)

ice

*dances I ate breakfast, I ate breakfast!!

Okay, I had one of those mornings where I was so late getting into uni, that it came out the other side of late and didn't really matter any more! SO I sat down and ate brekky...and boy, was it hard! I was so far from hungry. But I'm trying Bruce's (hi Bruce btw! How rude of me!) 3+3 thing, so...

I have had 2+2 so far, and am not hungry one little bit. :nana: :nana:

Snasu, the leg lifts are much harder than the sit ups, don't worry. My legs would get all wobbly after a while. Just do less of them than the SUs and it should be okay.

 *wanders off to check out cala...cale...yeah, the tape thing from YYYY!*

Hey Cama .. glad to hear this is workin out for ya

yes the leg lifts, situps etc are hard .. but will get easier

you cant expect to do 3 sets of 12 reps on Day 1 ... gotta work up to this maybe 2 sets of 10 .. or 3 sets of 6 ... whatever .. the point is to go as far as you can (take the muscles to fatigue) then see if next time you can push a lil harder ... you have to respect your body .. dont push too hard

*jerks her thumb in Bruce's direction* Eh? Wise one this. If I had the money Bruce, I'd be asking you how you felt bout coming over here for personal trainer duties :D

mmmmm... yes. How are you doing Tsi'Mri? :nana:
I am on-call this week and that does absolutely horrible things to any sense of regular sleep, planned activities, etc. ... So no exercise yesterday (at all!) and we won't talk about binge eating ...

OC ends on Sunday and then back to regular hours and habits I hope. At least I'll be able to make the gym this weekend.

Hmm...I'm guessing the exercise and payment method could be combined quite nicely... :p

My routine

Sorry to come into this discussion so late but I am an exercie fiend as well as a sexfiend!

6 meals a day is a great way to go! But make sure you limit your caloric intake and eat balanced meals.

Typical 6 meals for me are....

7 AM Diet Shake (slim fast, EAS, or something similar) 200 Calories
10 AM Snack Time Granola bar and a piece of fruit and water 200 - 300 calories
12 PM Turkey Sandwich w/ lo cal may some veggies or something (1/2 a subway sub no cheese works well too) 400 calories +Diet Soda
2pm Snack Time lo cal yogurt or smoothie <200 calories water!
6pm Dinner Meat portion about the size of your hand of chicken fish or whatever salad and veggies More water! 500-700 calories
9PM Night time snack Popcorn, pretzels, fruit, or peanuts < 200 calories

I am 32 5'9" around 180lbs and I keep my self around 1500 - 1600 calories a day. I have lost over 30lbs eating this way. Good luck!

Also I haven't seen any update pics! I thought you looked great in the first picture but by now you must be read for the cover of Playboy!

Exercise

Just wanted to post up about exercise as well!

I run on the tread mill about 30 minutes M W and Friday
I work out with free weights and a bench T TH and Saturday

Sundays I take off and I also allow myself 1 dinner of whatever I want pizza McDonald's or whatever I want and 1 snack chips, ben and Jerry's piece of cake or something else decadent.

Don't think you need to fork over alot of money for weights either!

Just buy them as you need them! Start with just 2 1/2 pound dumbells and a pair of 5 pounds.

Tuesdays do 3 sets of exercises for your arms and shoulders (bicep curls.hammer curls, tricep extensions, shoulder press)
Thursdays do 3 sets of exercises for your legs (lunges are great! Squats too! leg lifts, and calf raises)
Saturdays do chest and back (lawnmowers, bench press, Flys)

A great book to read is Bill Philips Body-for-life. You can find it cheap on ebay or half.com.

Keep up the great work and don't forget the progress pictures to give us all more motivation!

Hey Cama, glad to see you had breaky. It been a couple of days now and I'm still amazed. What's funny is that by this evening, you'll not be hungry at all and not have eaten as much as you would normally. At least that is the way it is for me. :nana:

But Bruce, I like to push.
and I agree Cama, we all need to have some 'personal training time' with Bruce.

lol... it's only been a week. Give a girl a chance, but I like the way you think ;) .

Thanks for the info of that food plan. I haven't tried any meal replacement drinks yet... mostly thought I'd start out with "a healthy" choice sort of idea. May have to give that try. Don't want to change too much at once. I may have to come back to that, but an idea of what are good food choices was nice. thanks.

Come back again - I like 'friendly" sexfiends. :p

You're so right. This is so simple! *kicks self* why have I never done this before!

I have just had my dinner - spag bol - and not only was the portion half the size of what I'd normally have, but the thought of my last snack...ugh!

I think it helps knowing you guys are out there too. Bless you for this thread Snasu!

Yup.. see. I should have done that ages ago. I've been skipping the night time snack, just because I'm so full. So, how did the rest of your day go?

Love sexfiends weight program - I could easily do that. This is something I've been thinking of reading up on.

*shakes head and wakes herself up* Sorry hun, I got distracted!

I think I'm going to be skipping the last snack as well. Apart from the fact that I'm too full, we also desperately need to do a shop - no fruit or veg left in the house! Thankfully that also means we've run out of bad snack items too!

I think my secret weapon is going to be low-cal jelly. (Um, this might be confusing. Not jam, the stuff you spread on bread with peanut butter. The coloured see-through stuff you serve at kid's parties. Do you guys call it Jello?.................................................................I think I've confused myself now.... )

It feels like you're eating loads, but it's mainly water and it's pretty filling.

Wonder how jelly salad would work out.... :p blurgh!

Yup that's jello. mmmm... now you have me thinking about fruit/jello salad. hmmm, I had spagetti tonight as well. I think talking to you is becoming the basis of my food selection. The power of suggestion. :)

Heh heh. Hmmm. Wonder how far I could extend this power of suggestion thing...could come in handy at uni!

You know what makes me laugh? When I was younger, as with many kids I suspect, I was pretty much anti anything fruit- or veg-like. Now that I have to feed myself, I actually have cravings for them if I don't get them enough. Which with the student finance system in this country, happens a lot when the money runs out....

yup, I have fruit cravings as well. Mostly of the orange and pear variety, but every once and awhile I like a fruit salad. Expensive stuff.

All this talk of cravings and suggestions ... I'm getting way off topic now ...
