Saltfountain has a really fun new thread where there will be weekly literary challenges, much like the photo thread of variations has a weekly challenge. The literary challenge he gave us is to write a poem using the letters of our username as the first letter in each new sentence.

I wrote this for that thread and realized how deep and resonant that exercise was for me.

I'd like to share it here.

It truly was.

It was also very overwhelming to come down from. I had an exceptional time and will absolutely be doing it again, but there's a definite refractory period for me. I had trouble sleeping that night and ended up needing a good cry. (I had what I would classify as an autistic meltdown)

The Librarian was lovely. He found me passed out on his couch in the morning and put me back to bed to sleep off the events of the night before. Once I woke up (around 11) he jumped back in to bed with me and we snuggled for a good while.

I think with experiences like that, it’s akin to a natural high. Your body has to figure out what to do with all those chemicals in order to settle down enough to relax or sleep.
