That in the 1800's here in the good ole U.S. of A after the revolution & after we all got stteled in some. There was some utopian experimentation? well anyway my history teacher just told us about this one group called... oh shoot I forgot the name... anyway they where in New York...
So basically married couples would go to this small comune & share everything there still very into gender roles so women share the fmale tasks like cooking, laundry, child care, etc...

But what fasinated me was that after living there for 3 months (they had to know you really were going to adapt to this way of life & see if they had any cooties) you could partner up with who ever you wanted to...
The men & women were trained in the wounderfull art of having sex & learned how to give as welll as receive pleasure -with out getting the woman pregnate.
Now if the woman did want to participate she didn't have to or she could chose who she'd say yes to & who she wouldn't

The first in this country to bring the idea of swaping....
Just felt I should share
Now here's the question...
Would you join?

Oh my goodness yes! I would love to learn better techniques, and I would LOVE to be with multiples! I was born to fuck, I think.. :) I'd love to do it with LOTS of people!

commune

jailbait

Sorry jailbait but I have to pass on this one. Men can bond together for wars, for work but when there's a woman involved, just doesn't happen. Men who would buy into this are more than a little off the beaten track and would pose a serious survival risk.

This is not a poke at liberation but more at the context in which it happens. The old world was a harsh one where people had to work pretty well all the time just to stay alive. Liberation is a child of plenty, free resources and time for expansion and self discovery. It's real in the here and now but a fantasy bubble in the 1800's.

Communes have an appeal to the social side of us but I think people ultimatley put the real of their personal selves before the herd.

This was actually started by a man thinking he'd get more...
& then fell apart because the men didn't like the fact that the women who they thought of a frigid were coming out of their rooms smiling from a night with another man

*chuckles* Off the beaten path?

"Two roads diverged, in a winding wood, and I took the one that wasn't paved."

What about jealousy?

I think that would be a major factor in the dynamics of such a group.

For instance, (as I've mentioned before, but don't mean to sound redundant) I've had a few threesomes. At the time, of course, they're great. But afterwards, jealousy and other "political" issues butt in.
I know it sounds fun, but I don't see how it could work in the long-run. People like pairing off. And once there's a "couple," and those lines of separation, someone's going to feel excluded. And do something about it. It sounds like a good idea, but I don't see how it could work in practice.

Rather than a place to live, I think it'd be more a place I'd visit.
