DO YOU REMEMBER...

Love the way he growled in the song "Pretty Woman"

Pretty woman walkin' down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman, I don't believe you
You're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy........ Growwwwwwwwwllll :D

My sister was into Dave Clark 5 big time, I may have some of her old 45's around here somewhere.

How about "Herman's Hermits"?

LOL... "I'm telling you now..." I used to think he was cute!
1964...My mom gave me enough lunch money for a sandwich, chips and a drink. The little place I went to next to school had a jukebox. If I had a quarter left I would play 'Oh Pretty Woman' twice and 'I Saw Her Standing There' once. Then, switch off the next time. I loved the way McCartney shouted One...Two...Three...FO!!

So glad to hear the two of you enjoyed the concert! I think I saw him on stage only once, in the mid 1970s. Having kids kind of put an end to concerts and partying for me, but It was for the best since I was a single parent.

Hmmm... maybe I'm old enough to start going to concerts again :D

As we sat in our seat I watched the ppl comming in & noted some were 3 generations guessing that the granparents were the original Bowie fans but then there were their kids & their kids kids! ages seemed to be from 60's to teens & younger all bopping along to Bowie.:D

Anybody remember Fizzies...pop in a tablet (similar to Alka Seltzer)?? That used to be the old kids joke back then...What's worse than a fire in a match factory? A Flood in a Fizzies factory. LOL (I think the company went bankrupt when the Feds figured out that the sweetner (with cyclamates) caused cancer in lab rats.)

The company did go bankrupt and closed down. However,a new company bought the name a few years ago and redid formula and they are available again,so drink up!!!!!

older than dirt

Does anyone remember the Ajax White Knight and their "stronger than dirt" ads?

My first concert was Herman's Hermits, with Freddy and the Dreamers as the opening act! (My cousin was visiting from Arizona, and we were thrilled at watching HH on the Ed Sullivan show, and our aunt surprised us with tickets to see them the following night!):D

It was the first time we were dropped off at the theater, then picked up after by our aunt and her friend.

There's a kind of hush all over the world tonight
All over the world you can hear the sounds of lovers in love
You know what I mean
Just the two of us and nobody else in sight
There's nobody else and I'm feeling good just holding you tight

So listen very carefully
Closer now and you will see what I mean
It isn't a dream
The only sound that you will hear
Is when I whisper in your ear
I love you forever and ever

There's a kind of hush all over the world tonight
All over the world you can hear the sounds of lovers in love
La-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la

So listen very carefully
Closer now and you will see what I mean
It isn't a dream
The only sound that you will hear
Is when I whisper in your ear
I love you forever and ever

There's a kind of hush all over the world tonight
All over the world people just like us are fallin' in love
Yeah, they're fallin' in love
Hush, they're fallin' in love
Hush

Yes, I remember the Ajax commercials...classics! How about the old Mr. Clean ads with the bald guy..."Mr. Clean gets rid of dirt, grime, and grease in just a minute. Mr. Clean will clean your whole house and everything that's in it."

Yep I remember those ads... he's rides in with his lance and "poof" all the dirt & grime was gone...

Though I listened to and loved HH, they were just a few years before I was old enough to go to concerts. My first real concert was in, I think 1974. Montrose opened, Golden Earring played second and the headliner was Supertramp. Their album "Crime of the Century" was at the top of the charts.

geez, thanks!

Now I can't get that jingle out of my head!

I wasn't old enough to concert either; that's why my aunt escorted us there, and they were waiting for us when the show was over!:D

Thanks for the link!
