OMG...I'd forgotten about Mod Squad...and the other show that came on either before or after it on the same night, Room 222.

Reading through this thread is like reliving my life. I remember Saturday morning TV line-up. Sky King, a pilot , his niece Penny, and the plane"songbird", fighting the bad guys. Then there was My Friend Flicka, Howdy Doody Time with Buffalo Bob, Clarabel, Phinius T Bluster. And Death Valley Days with the "old ranger" and Twenty Mule Team Borax. Ah, such innocents we were.

dog

Does anyone else remember the show..."The littlest Hobo"??

It aired on Sat am's...and it was about a lone German Shepard...and his adventures.

No one I have ever asked remembers this show! I was a faithful watcher...that dog was absolutely beautiful.....didn't take too much to make me happy...lol!

I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I never really thought about it. Yeah it was really sad when Chip Moody died. You know he continued to work part time, between the surgeries. But at the time he died he hadn't been on the air for about 2 years. I looked online and it said that the last time the viewers saw him was in April 1999. He fought long and hard for many years, but there towards the end when he was on tv he looked pretty much gone! He was so thin and just didn't seem the "old Chip Moody" but he kept a good attitude and tried to keep any of the set backs from his family and friends and viewers. He was a great guy. Did you ever know Gloria Campos?? Well when he died she said that she had met him from time to time, but she was his replacement. I didn't realize that. She said that she always felt kind of bad about getting that job, she thought it was just temporarily until he was able to get back. But of course, he never did.

I am so sorry to hear about Soron's friend. I will keep him/you and the family in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you :rose:

Gloria Campos was probably the one that I liked the most of any newscaster/journalist in DFW, even though she was doing more of the human interest type stories when I was there. I think she also had a Saturday morning show for the Hispanic community that I watched several times... "La Vida?" What a classy lady. In a way, I'm glad she has followed in his position.

OH Bandit & I are home from DAVID BOWIE & what a show he puts on...a big thumbs up from me & You dopn't need BANDIT'S view as she is a full on BOWIE fan anyway, it made me so happy to see her happy bouncing around to the songs. It was well over 20 years since BANDIT last saw BOWIE.
So glad to hear the two of you enjoyed the concert! I think I saw him on stage only once, in the mid 1970s. Having kids kind of put an end to concerts and partying for me, but It was for the best since I was a single parent.

Hmmm... maybe I'm old enough to start going to concerts again :D

I think you are right about all the Addam's Family stuff, had forgotten most of it! We loved Marcus Welby and Medical Center, Chad Everett was such a cute doctor!! ;) Don't remember the Fantastic Voyage. I think I remember Combat, LOVED Fugitive, didn't like Land of the Giants too much. I don't remember 12 O' Clock High.

Btw, I watched an episode of Twilight Zone last night, Bob Cummings was on it and he was VERY young.

Do ya'll get TV Land on your cable selections? They play alot of the stuff discussed here. I Love Lucy, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Leave It To Beaver, Petticoat Junction and the Sci - Fi channel is where I saw Twilight Zone last night.

Hallmark Channel also plays alot of Magnum PI, Gunsmoke, you know some of the classical tv!

They have petticoat junction on tv land?? any idea what day and time?? that used to be my favorite show

Gil's post got me thinking... What was the first rock concert you went to?

Mine was in the late spring of 1972, my 'boyfriend' and I went to see Led Zeppelin's "Stairway To Heaven" tour in Chicago. His sister drove since we weren't old enough! The coolest part was this: they saved the song "Stairway To Heaven" for last, and on playing the final notes of the song, the crew released about 50 doves from behind the stage and we watched them fly upwards as the song dwindled into silence. It was beautiful!

I do wonder how they caught all of them later though :D

Hey Arden, this would make a great new thread!!

The First Rock Concert I went to was when Pink Floyd did thier
"Dark side of the Moon" tour!! It was awesome!! They played the baseball stadium in Milwaukee Wis back in the mid 70's! Oh man what a concert!! That was when people used to get along and Security wasn't quite as strict as they are now. We brought in a quarter barrel on the back of a friends wheelchair and just had one helluva party!! They played for what seemed like hours...into the evening when it got dark...and the whole thing ended in a shattering explosion of pink fireworks and hordes of balloons!! It's was certainly one I'll never forget!!

LOL

Mine was the Allman Brothers Band in Tallahassee, at FSU, in the gym. I think it was 1970. What I remember best was this tall skinny dude with reddish blonde hair and a Les Paul slung over his shoulder. He was playing so damn loud, my ears were almost hurting. But, his slide playing made me sit up and take notice. About a year later that guy, Duane Allman, died in an accident on his motorcycle.

LOL

My first concert was Yes on their "Fragile" album tour at the Memorial Coliseum here in Portland, OR in September 1972. I remember the big thing was their concert had the first laser light show, which was cool at the time. I loved their keyboardist, Rick Wakeman, and the 12,000 people there went crazy when they played 'Roundabout'. I also remember bitching up a storm at paying the horridly expensive price for fourth row tickets...10 dollars apiece. LOL Ahhhhh, those were the days! :) LOL

My first concert was in Houston when I was about 8 years old, went to see Roy Orbison(still one of my all time favs...),Billy Joe Royal, and a group up unitl about 6 months ago I could not for the life of me remember their name, and just out of the blue one day it came to me..the Dave Clark Five. :)

Jazey, I remember that show. I always felt sad at the end when people would want the dog to stay, but he would walk away from them.

I was just into highschool when I took a bus to Toledo where a friend met me. We went to see The Four Seasons at the Sports Arena..."64 or '65, I think!

Hi MizTabby! I didn't know you were an old soul too!

The Mod Squad was definitely cool lol... Everyone I knew wanted to have Peggy Lipton's body and hair... not to mention her wardrobe ;)

Do you remember Thomasina? We got our orange Tabby from the pound when my daughter was 5... inspired by her loving that movie so much.

been able to keep up on everything, but if it hasn't been mentioned, do you remember when gas was 17 cents a gallon?? and i am not that old!!!
The year I started driving (1973) gas was 43 cents a gallon in Illinois... I remember seeing that the first time I filled the tank on my own. Right around same time the gas stations brought out the concept of 'self-serve' in my area ;)

How about those old gasoline company jingles?

You can trust your car
to the man that wears the star...

I remember a Sinclair station on the freeway heading into Chicago that had a huge animated green neon dinosaur sign. If I remember correctly, it's tail swished back & forth.

Furry stuffed tiger tails that the gas station gave out as a promo for the kids... you hung it inside the gas tank so it dangled outside of it... "Put A Tiger In Your Tank"

One gas company gave out orange plastic horseshoes to stick on your car... I can't remember which one that was.

~Grins~ I saw them in the late 70s... but I can't remember where or when! Must have been something in the water that day... ;)

Working the Milwaukee Auto show last night, I spoke with a gentlman about gas wars. Who here remembers gas wars.

Anybody remember Fizzies...pop in a tablet (similar to Alka Seltzer)?? That used to be the old kids joke back then...What's worse than a fire in a match factory? A Flood in a Fizzies factory. LOL (I think the company went bankrupt when the Feds figured out that the sweetner (with cyclamates) caused cancer in lab rats.)
