I am a housewife....Hubby told me to get health insurance and he would pay for it....I never got any...we did our taxes it cost us almost 1000 since I didn't have insurance...do y'all think.I should have to make it up.to him...if so how? I welcome lots of responses...

This is why nobody should be forced to buy something that either don't want, don't need, or both. I think you did the right thing by not buying into it.

If you have already filed you probably won't get the money back. But the president issued an executive order a couple of weeks back telling the IRS not to enforce the fine.

IF you want to gamble on them ignoring the fine, you can file and "amended return" 1040X, and get the $1K back.

OTOH, if the fine IS enforced, you will (re-)pay it, and interest, plus a penalty for not have done your taxes correctly.
