What do you (or your partner) collect?
My husband doesn’t collect much, actually. Maybe baseball hats.
Have you ever lost interest in a guy when you went to his home and saw his Pokémon collection (or something similar)?
No, but again, none of them have ever had real collections. That saiddd…

I have lived with someone who was a “collector”. From my earliest memories, I recall stacks of blank CDs, rows of heavy manila-flavoured computer monitors, shelves of tiny metal cars.

As I grew older, the obsessions became more invasive and expensive. Old cars, real ones, that were nice to look at when they arrived but eventually, well, they’ve just become driveway ornaments.

So now I sort of, maybe, purposely avoid intimate relationships with men who lean too far one way. Maybe I need that room for my own obsessions collections ☺️
Have you noticed a difference in a tool guy vs. a comic book guy sexually?
My husband is the least comic book guy out of my ✨ three ✨ relationships, but he’s still not a tool guy.

The nerdiest guy was the best at oral 🥹 but I really shouldn’t be comparing 🫣
Does your partner collect something that boggles your mind?
A friends husband collects beer can empties, does that count? 🙃
Have you ever collected something and thought, “this will not help me get laid”?
Hahahaha, I mean. Yes. My dolls, mainly, I mean, it’s gotten a bad rep. The stigma is so strong 😣 we aren’t all insane. I am, but not all of us! And they aren’t creepy, they’re cute.

Leave me and my girls alone ✋🏼
Are you on the same page as your collecting partner, do you go to comic-cons, role play, or just have the same hobby/interest?
Ah, well. He supports me and my interests - my knitting, the dolls, the random Facebook marketplace pick ups for vintage McDonalds holiday ornaments…

I support him and his interests - I know a thing or two (and that’s it) about the Canadiens hockey team, I grab him a hat when I’m at the mall. We eat together every night and watch a shared brain-rot TikTok account on the tv.

I think it would be niceeee if we could share a deeper interest or two, but I’m also very lucky to have the space to have my own hobbies. The space to make friends. ☺️

From the male perspective, there are three issues with dolls here:

1) do they live on the bed?
2) do they live on shelves overlooking the bed, forming an audience of wax-faced judgement for whatever is happening in the bed?
3) are any of them life-sized and called Rubber Rachel?

No! No, the bed is just for sleeping. And knitting. And a few other activities, no dolls involved 😋

They live in my walk in closet in the spare room, in a glass shelf andddddd in tote bags and boxes scattered around. So… yes, I can see them from the bed in there and they can see me. But like, they’re cute and pretty. Not scary.

None are life sized and none talk 😔 The pollypocket are much tinier than the Bratz, but I don’t have as many.

It’s a totally insane hobby!

What do you (or your partner) collect?
Red flags
Have you ever lost interest in a guy when you went to his home and saw his Pokémon collection (or something similar)?
no, but I'd struggle if I didn't have a passing interest in what they were interested in

 no

no but I wouldn't think in those terms

Let’s talk about Man-boys. I’m not sure that’s the proper term, but I’m going with it. All guys everywhere have a hobby, obsession, collection, etc.

For some guys it’s tools, cars, knives, guns, etc. “Man Stuff”, if you will.

For other’s, it’s a little “Less Manly”: Action figures, comic books, Blu-ray collections, things that maybe you don’t tell your girlfriends about, or maybe it make your eyes roll.

I’m just gonna say very generally, liking stuff is cool whatever that stuff is. People who like things are almost always more interesting than people who don’t.

But, there’s a difference in my mind between liking things and having a hobby and being obsessed and defining yourself by said hobby. I enjoy knowing people who are the former, less so the latter.

I tend toward the less-than-typically-"manly".
I collect toys: Dollies Action Figures, Robots, Windups*, rhinos, Art books, art supplies, but also tools; mostly Dewalt (for cordless)
I always carry a Gerber multi-tool, a Swiss Army knife AND a folding box cutter. But I do not "collect" them. I don't need a knife to kill, defend, skin. I once bought a folding knife because a woman I knew had a bit of a kink.

*I used to be in the "gift Industry": designing various children's toys and packaging. Though dollies action figures were not so much a part of what I created.

I suspect that some of what I collect would turn off some women. That's ok, those women are not very interesting to me.
I have drawers and drawers and skertch books galore full of drawings, and someone who is not very interested in those.

My general clutteriness would be a turn off to more women.
My handiness might help to offset that a bit. (unlikely)

I have rebullt and reinstalled a 360Cu in V8 in my first vehicle. but I wouldn't collect cars (even if I had the money and space) nor am I a motor head.
I have a "bunch"of comic books, but do not "collect" them.

The wife-woman collects MANY things: Dolls, cookie jars, clothes, shoes, lamps...

We both enjoy antiquing and garage saling. We have been to a comic-con, but she doesn't like them. I had a tabel to sell my art at one, but she is rather prudish about anything I draw that is suggestive.

I have teetered near the edge of renaissance fair dress up and/or comic-con cosplay, but I'm always too busy for that.
Hell, I don't even take much time or interest in dressing "nice". Utilitarian clothing for me.

Funny, and related to "manliness" (and attracting women).

GENERALLY speaking, a gay man will be more attentive to his clothing. YEt I have often heard women talk about checking out a man's shoes, as a measure of attractiveness. In my experience, the men who are not gay, but put a lot of effort into clothing/looks are more insecure and tend to be a bit too into themselves.

But I totally understand a woman (women... people) enjoying seeing their partner dressed up or looking "nice".

Blah blah blah

A person assigning levels of "manhood" to arbitrary actions like the type of thing someone collects would make me roll my eyes, not the specifics of what is being collected. The hottest, most "rugged" man I know collects niche refrigerator magnets 🤷‍♀️
What do you (or your partner) collect?
I don't have a partner. I build/collect gundams, Funkos, pins, and knives; at one point, I collected baseball cards. I guess I would be considered "manly" for doing so, by some people.
Have you ever lost interest in a guy when you went to his home and saw his Pokémon collection (or something similar)?
No. I would actually be intrigued.

No.

The men I date and I typically have similar interests. Also, I'm a decent looking woman; a man is going to want to fuck me, no matter how many collectibles I have displayed in my home.

When I was partnered: sometimes I was, sometimes I wasn't. My hobbies, ultimately, have had no real influence on my relationships. Having things in common is cool, but we don't have to align on everything (especially if we're talking about interests).

Isn’t most of what you draw suggestive, or is that just what you tend to share here?
That is what I share here.
I also create life drawings, nude but not very "suggestive", except to the most sensitive minds.
But also animals, and fantasy (Think fairies, rather than erotic-imaginings, tho' I have crossed that line)

I'm not sure I'd regard collecting guns or knives as a sign of being 'manly'. It's more of a sign of being someone I'd steer clear of, especially if their yard also has suspiciously regular patches of freshly dug earth. But hey, I'm judgy.
What do you (or your partner) collect?
I collect various things, which is why I have a two foot long West African ceremonial sword in my bedroom. Among other things. But before you ask, the digging at the bottom of the garden was just planting crocosmia.

I'm convinced that the male collecting desire is fuelled by the primal hunter-gatherer urge. My ancestors excelled at finding the finest nuts and berries, and this, coupled with their ability to organise and plan and create order from chaos, naturally made them the most desirable mates. By the same logic, I'm hoping that my ability to arrange things neatly in shallow mahogany trays ought to make me look like prime breeding material.

I'll let you know how that goes.

I collect guns, fishing equipment, tools, old D&D material, some comics, 28mm miniatures, basball hats, hunting gear and Ford memorabilia

I have never lost interest but this one chick had this weird doll collection in her room that kinda freaked me out because they always seemed to be watching me. Nothing like banging your partner from behind while making eye contact with the weird dolls on the headboard..

Sometimes the weird ones that collect weird shit can be into some kinky things... I love when they have a toy chest full of things they want their ass swatted with...

Way back when it was common for people to have their music collections on shelves in their homes, I would always check them out and pass private judgement on them. I could generously accept tastes that differed from mine, most of the time, but there were a few times when bad taste (imho) was enough to make me lose any sexual interest.

Can't leave that hanging there...

Which bands / singers caused you to dry up?

Out of curiosity what kind of music would make you lose interest?

I don't find half of those things hot. But, I won't judge.

If you are passionate about something, it is very hot. I collect half of those things myself. Barbies are action figures, right?

No, I've fucked a guy while looking up and seeing a bunch of Funko!Pop figures staring at me. It was kinda like I was at a sex party.

This is what I’ve been saying for months 🤷🏼‍♀️ but you bring one squash into it and suddenly no one wants to share 🙄

But you already know that, you were there 😋

Still, I am curious how many men have toys and hide it not only from their partners, but people they chat with online and why? Have you ever DIY’d your own American Pie? When did you purchase your first real one? How does it compare to your newest purchase? What feature/settings are crucial to you enjoying yourself to the fullest with a sex toy?

That’s because we were all too busy outside planting squash.
That video gave me a boner, for the second time! But don’t tell anybody. 🤫

I bought one sex toy in my life, not that long ago. I used it once, it was meh. The cleanup annoyed me. I don’t remember what it is called, but it’s basically a latex blob you put over your cock and rub one out into. It feels good, but not great. My hand gets the job done far more efficiently.
Have you ever DIY’d your own American Pie?
I don’t think I’ve fucked many food products. I did use a Shop Vac once for about half a second, then panicked as it sucked me in. I don’t know what I expected, but in that half second I imagined my dick being pulled off and never tried it again.
When did you purchase your first real one?
Last year. I think I even promised to review it here, but then I didn’t. I suppose we could call my above response my review.
How does it compare to your newest purchase?
I don’t imagine I’ll continue in the sex toy purchasing. My hand, or someone’s mouth/vagina can’t really be replicated.
What feature/settings are crucial to you enjoying yourself to the fullest with a sex toy?
🤷‍♂️
I am growing pumpkins for Halloween, if all goes well, maybe I’ll stick it in one. 😜
