So I'm in Malaysia and have been looking forward to eating up a storm for ages.

Thanks. I am a bit better today, but still can't eat much yet. I'm in Asia till Sunday so hoping I can at least be able to eat by the weekend.

If you stay sick for that long, you should go to the hospital to make sure it isn't serious. Stay overnight and you can get some authentic Asian food, lol.

Heh I'll get real congee in the hospital!
Another improvement today. I was actually able to eat some proper food, but not much. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
Such a shame to have missed the food in Malaysia! Were you only in Kuala Lumpur?
btw, do you know what caused the bug? Airport/airline food?

Yes I was only in KL. No idea what caused the bug sadly.
Much improved today. The friend I'm staying with is an expert on herbal remedies and tanked me full of essential oils etc when I arrived. I was actually able to eat two good meals. I think my body is craving food now after not having anything for five days!

I bought some probiotic kimchi from the organic section of a local store. It tastes so different than regular kimchi. Not just the difference between homemade and commercial, but the taste was more like a pickled cabbage vs the usual fermented taste. It was still good. That's about as far from my food comfort zone as I have traveled.

Well I'm back home now, and can eat normally, but I'm still getting some light stomach cramps. Seems like it'll be another few days before I'm fully recovered. At least Singapore didn't disappoint food wise!

A full week and you still aren't 100%. I feel for you! I am also noting the time and date in case you are patient x for a pandemic

Slight improvements as the week has gone on. My abs are sore as hell after all the cramping though
I wonder how probiotics can survive in the acidity of the chilli in the kimchi?

I looked at the bottle I bought at the supermarket. It's a tiny mass produced kimchi, but it says naturally probiotic. It must be good for you, but I wouldn't recommend it with any type of stomach pain, lol. I bet your cramps would come back or you would get an ulcer.
You will have abs of steel now, very cool!! what if you have a tapeworm too? have you seen your dr yet?

I've seen 2 cases (1 was a white boy) where after its all gotten out of their stomach (vomitting, etc), they slept for pretty much the whole day, then they recovered. So, 10 days is a long time for a stomach bug!

I haven't been to the doctor yet, simple because I've had this problem in the past and they usually say to ride it out.
If it goes past the weekend I will make an appointment though.

I'm finally better! Took bloody ages but I've got my energy back. Yesterday was the first day I felt normal. Thanks for the concern
