Introduce yourself here

5'5" punk rocker from WA (state that is)

now it is your turn

How do you know if you're Asian?

I was born in Tokyo, Japan, and my mother is Japanese, so I guess I'm one!

33, male, in the Washington, DC area...never really wanted to label myself 'Asian' but the affinity is too strong to ignore.

Roman

also asian

No one ever believes me when I tell them I am half asian. I have been called everything but asian... I take pride in my 6'0", 175 lbs, handsome part-asian looks and background!

I know what you mean, but it's funny--when I travel in an Asian country, everyone assumes that I'm Asian also (and start talking to me in whatever the local language is...very disconcerting). Here in the U.S., very few people (except Hawaiians, mostly) would guess that I'm Amerasian...

This being Lit, does anyone have an opinion on the myth about penis size of Asians? I've never done a comparison, but maybe that part of me was inherited from my non-Asian parent... :D

Roman

As far as penis size, I must have also inherited my endowment from my non-asian parent. Generall, I have heard that asian men do have smaller ___, but I am sure there are always exceptions out there.

More Lit Affirmative Action...

OK, so there are only 3 of us on this forum who have ANY Asian ancestry?

Just confirming that, thanks.

Roman

I'm Half Asian :)

I'm half Asian...other half Latina :) Filipina to be exact :) How are you all tonight??

Waitaminnit--aren't the Philippines in Asia too? Or am I missing something?

Looks like we should change the thread title to "Calling all Half-Asians." Although I don't like being referred to as only a half.

Not that it has anything to do with me..but I just wanted to let you know that in Europe...and certainly the UK...we class 'you' (NO slur) as Orientals...we class the people of Pakistan/India Asians.. they also class themselves as Asians.

I wonder why the difference? Maybe it's just the USA who thinks different? Again, no slur as I live here in this wonderful country.

If I was going to slur lol.... I would ask~~~

"Why is it called the World Series when ONLY America takes part?"

Leave it to a Brit to parse things differently...Queen's English I suppose (just kidding)...

For my part, I understand that some folks don't like the term 'Orientals,' mainly for the connotation rather than the actual meaning of the word 'Orient' (as in East)...much in the same way that the term 'Negro' has fallen out of favor because of how it was used in the South...while 'Oriental' is technically an accurate description, in the U.S. it was often used perjoratively, probably not so in Europe (although if you're located in California, wouldn't people from East Asia be called 'Occidentals?').

And I believe that those whose ethnicity originates in Pakistan, India, and for that matter Turkey would still be classed as 'Asian-Americans.' I know someone at my university of Indian descent who was a leader in the local Asian-American student group.

Finally, I think that folks from Canada might take offense at your crack about the 'World Series,' although the general point is well-taken...

Enough seriousness! More Asian fun!

Changing the topic slightly...

One rather nice term I heard once in a documentary on Amer-Asians (in particular, those with Japanese and American parents) was to turn around the term 'half' (or Happa) and instead call such folks 'doubles'--since we actually have two cultures, not half of one!

cool thinking.....more is better :)

Or as they also say, 'too much is never enough.'

So, exploring more cultural stereotypes, anyone else here believe that Asians are particularly more kinky in general than those of other cultures? Look at what has emerged from Asian cultures...the Kama Sutra, early Japanese pornography, etc...

That's something that's always appealed to me about my Asian cultural heritage (Japanese in my case)...how societies which appear so restrictive can, under the right circumstances, embrace complete and unabashed sexual liberation!

And judging from your picture, your sensuality is quite apparent! Nice AV, too.

thanks....sensuality is a big part of life....even little things can be made sensual I love it....

my av's change alot :) thanks for liking this one I love it....

LOL I didn't mean Little in reference to body parts. I meant "little" as in a man who caresses me as he slips my coat on for me, who rubs up my calf as he slips my shoes off when we get home, a man who at dinner loves to play footsie under the table while the waitress is taking our order....things like that ;)

Yes, that's quite truly--sensuality is often found in subtlety, something that I'm afraid a lot of people miss in their efforts to be brash and over-confident! Hope that you have plenty of opportunities to be caressed!
