America started out as a genocidal slaveholding nation. Since then we've very gradually been getting better, in a two-steps-forward, one-step-back kind of way, but we still have a long way to go.The latest stats I've read say (bbc . com / news / articles / cn5w9w160xdo) "... it emerged this week that his share of the vote has fallen below 50%, as counting continues."
On the other topic: Was America ever a "good nation"? Did it start out as a "good nation" and then turn to the Dark Side at some point, say, when President Kennedy almost brought the planet to a nuclear holocaust? Or when President Jackson made the Presidency imperial? Or when President Wilson ordered the segregation of the Federal government workforce?
