Once upon a time there was an administration. There was also a storm. That administration destroyed agencies designed to help people in legit need in crisis, wasted resources, and reassigned agents away form their actual roles to feed liberal special interests, political cronies, and those who were not even citizens of this nation. Then the storm hit. And the federal response was not only awful, it was criminal. And a state suffered while the government lied. And a state asked for the government to get out the way while that government turned help away from the state, blocked needed airspace, and took credit for help private citizens gave. And people suffered. And people died. And the administration lied and covered and denied and blocked speech to hide a debacle that would destroy election chances. But the truth couldn't, wouldn't be silenced. And those who would have supported that administration watched and were sickened.... No. They were pissed! They weren't going to vote for the contender they hated, but they sure as hell were not going to show up for a person they learned by observation to despise. You ask where those millions of votes went? Why Kamala lost so badly? Why Trump won? If you don't know, you haven't been paying attention.
Not that I have any regard for the rodent, but Desantis' reasons for declaring war on Disney were awfully petty.

Oh, and the true talent, that isn't Hollywood weirdo lib, is staying right here is America. You know, where they can profit off their genius instead of having to give chunks of it away to those who didn't earn it because of your Socialist system and twisted views of what is owed via "social contracts" no one agreed to, "community stakeholders" who invested nothing, and overtaxed, under-benefitted population as a whole. The smart people are getting the hell outta there.

What about the people who voted for someone other than Harris or Trump? Those minor party votes were enough to throw the election either way. Would those be bad people? What about the nation four years ago when it elected Biden and rejected Trump. Was it a "good nation" back then, but then in four short years under Biden transformed into "not a good nation"? I find American politics quite puzzling . . .

No, it wasn't, because it still contained more than 70 million Trumpers. The ability of Trump's movement to get any traction at all is a sign of rot. He brings out the worst in everyone. Trump both embodies and encourages/validates all that is evil in the American national character -- willful ignorance, anti-intellectualism, greed, dishonesty, arrogance, racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia, American exceptionalism, religious bigotry, producerism, etc., etc.
The latest stats I've read say (bbc . com / news / articles / cn5w9w160xdo) "... it emerged this week that his share of the vote has fallen below 50%, as counting continues."
On the other topic: Was America ever a "good nation"? Did it start out as a "good nation" and then turn to the Dark Side at some point, say, when President Kennedy almost brought the planet to a nuclear holocaust? Or when President Jackson made the Presidency imperial? Or when President Wilson ordered the segregation of the Federal government workforce?
Yes, there have been many less-than-exemplary leaders of this nation over it's 250 year history. Jackson and Wilson are certainly near the top. Ulysses S. Grant was nearly as corrupt as Trump is, and of course Herbert Hoover presided over the economic collapse of the United States in 1929-1930. However, Trump will no doubt go down as the worst of the worst- and possibly (even likely) will have the ignominious distinction of being the one who precipitated the inevitable decline and collapse of the United States, at least as a free and prosperous society.
The mere fact that he WAS EVEN ALLOWED TO RUN FOR OFFICE IN THE FIRST PLACE after his crimes, let alone being elected, as opposed to being in jail where he belongs, is in itself a sign of the irrevocable decline of American democracy.
