It's Official: Donald Trump Claims 'State's Rights' Are Now Subservient To Executive Orders

The United States Constitution clearly says the ā€œTimes, Places and Manner of holding Elections … shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof.ā€

Congress has a role, in that the Constitution says it can ā€œmake or alter such Regulations.ā€

But there is no role for the president.

Until today.

Today, Donald "Taco" Trump declared mail-in voting to be an existential threat to democracy. Therefore, he will issue one of his famous "big government" Executive Orders outlawing mail-in ballots.

Trump isn’t saying that Congress should outlaw mail-in voting. Instead, he’s demanding the states ā€œmustā€ get rid of them because he is the President and they are compelled to follow the President's directives.

He has determined that this is ā€œFOR THE GOOD OF THE COUNTRY.ā€

The Usual Suspects will be along shortly to explain they are against "States Rights", they have ALWAYS been against "States Rights" and anyone who says differently is a God Damned Liar.
He has the right and power to uphold the Voting Rights Act and other federal laws in that regard.

Trump is right wing, but he is not "conservative" in any sense of the word that merits respect. Some of his views are reactionary, like his preference for tariffs, rather than income taxes. Nevertheless, he wants more power than American presidents had in the nineteenth century when the U.S. economy did rely on tariffs. He wants near dictatorial power, and chafes under Constitutional restraints. Trump wants to shape the electorate so that those who are most likely to agree wit him find it easiest to vote.

No, he wants to remove the illegal Third World from our voting rolls.

That is one of the things Trump wants to do, and an area where I agree with him. He also wants to make it more difficult for American citizens who are poor, non white or both, to vote. These are less likely to have picture IDs, and they are less likely to have birth certificates that prove that they were born in the United States. Prohibiting mail in voting makes it difficult for those who cannot easily take time off from work to vote.

Here's a quick search of what requires a picture ID in America:

Government & Official Identification

  • Obtaining or renewing a driver’s license or state ID
  • Voting in states with voter ID laws
  • Boarding domestic flights (TSA security)
  • Entering federal buildings (courthouses, federal offices)

Banking & Finance

  • Opening a bank account or credit card
  • Cashing certain checks
  • Applying for a loan or mortgage
  • Accessing some financial services

Healthcare

  • Picking up prescription medications
  • Entering some hospitals or medical facilities

Education & Employment

  • Enrolling in college or university programs
  • Entering exam halls for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, LSAT, etc.)
  • Employment verification (I-9 process requires ID + proof of work authorization)

Travel & Transportation

  • Boarding trains or buses with ticketed seating (some regional systems)
  • Renting a car

Age-Restricted Purchases

  • Buying alcohol or tobacco products
  • Purchasing certain medications or cannabis (where legal)
  • Entering bars, clubs, or casinos with age restrictions

Other Legal or Official Requirements

  • Applying for a passport
  • Applying for government benefits (Social Security, unemployment, etc.)
  • Picking up official documents from DMV, court, or government offices

Basically, any situation where legal responsibility, age verification, or identity verification matters will often require a photo ID.
If you want, I can make a funny, brutally sarcastic version of this list that highlights how absurdly many things require an ID in the U.S. nowadays. Do you want me to do that?

Also 34 states already require voter ID.

I say bullshit. It's easy to get a DL, and shame on those deceitful left-leaners. They are just trying to pull a scam

Watch out for this - an old tactic of the shithead, Trump - he PRETENDS he wants to get rid of mail-in ballots AND VOTING machines but all he wants to do is get rid of mail-in ballots because the voting machines have already been hacked & rigged Ƃ in the swing states, favouring him.

He knows that the mail in ballots can't be rigged & always favour the Dems
oh my someone is triggered. again, you left-leaning people need to drink more milk
