Well considering I've never seen her lower half. I'll pick the upper half

Freakygurl and Honeylick were combined half and half,
Freaky got the upper leg, and Honey got the calf,
The final dazzling product was put together by the elves,
And when the Lit men saw it, they came all over themselves.

i was born in 1972

And I was born 13 years earlier...in just over a decade, words to label people by color were falling out of usage and being replaced with new ones.

For some of that time, I found the word "black" felt disrespectful to say versus "negro".

But to address the thread directly, I was off-put by the concept of our discussing each other's colors...and my first reaction was, as one person posted earlier...does it matter anymore?

Keith actually glues that wig to his scalp. Maybe he should have stayed in the mental hospital for a little while longer . . .

Anyone else see the irony that we're actually discussing hair care? And I was only joking at first . . .

<snip>

To a black person, is Negress more offensive, less offensive or about the same as Negro in terms of impact in 2003?

Or are they silly words now with no real meaning anymore?

Curiously

Lance

I don't know about anyone else but I, personally, don't get offended by the use of the terms Negro or black; it takes a lot more than that to offend me. The reason the PC element went from using black to African American was to encompass the entirety of the race, not just the coloring, I believe. Damn, I think that sounded almost smart!!

I've always felt that certain people must like being offended, otherwise they wouldn't let such trivial things get to them.

As far as I'm concerned it's just a waste of energy. And they're only words. So what?
