If the league gives A-Rod a lifetime ban, the Yankees can weasel their way out of the contract they signed with him. That would be a travesty but it wouldn't surprise me. He should get the same penalty as the rest of the dopers but no more than that.

MLB says they have evidence he has interfered with their investigation, which is why MLB is calling for the lifetime ban. Some of the newscasters I've seen say they doubt he'll be penalized that harsh.

I heard on the radio this AM that the middle ground is suspension for the rest of this year and all of next year.
Still, this means he'll be 39 going on 40 in 2015, have not played baseball in 2+ years and still have a hip problem.
Might as well be a lifetime ban.
