In my opinion, which doesn't matter much, the NY gun (and ammo) laws are unconstitutional. By the way, it hasn't really helped to reduce the gun violence in Albany. The problem with guns laws is that they always put restrictions on all the law abiding people and the criminals ignore them. I always equate this to the wild west. Towns with few guns were always a haven for the criminals and the towns with lots of guns and people willing to use them were always the safest because the criminals knew they would get shot there. So you find it prudent to fight "unintelligent and assinine" with unintelligent and assinine? Thats a well thought out plan.
So here we go...your premise is that everyone that buys guns is for the sole purpose of kiling someone. Ignorant take on your part. Sure nobody buys a car with the intent on killing someone (for the most part), but yet, it happens everyday. Do u want to argue that point? Cars account for a significant more deaths each year than guns. If the goal is to save lives, then start with the greatest taker of lives instead of trying to push an agenda.
If tougher gun laws worked, then explain the significantly higher gun related deaths in cities where those laws are toughest. Your only handcuffing people from being able to defend themselves....u know, the law abiding citizens?
