Wow! I finished Chapter 7 last night...It is indeed the finale of the Gifting Night saga but that doesn't nescessarily mean it's the end of the stories about the Dhase...I've been getting feedback hoping that Chris will be back and everything will turn out all right...well, I can't speak for the later, but I can say that the pending Chapter 6 is predominately about Chris...At the moment I've moved on to other things but they're now firmly in my head...

It's actually something of a relief to be working with Cassidy again...an old familiar friend returning...Recently I've been working a lot on the Laresa Chain and my Virtual Reality story...Then came Halloween and immediately from there came the Gifting Night series, so it's been a couple of months...

For those who don't know ~which would probably be pretty much everyone since I've never really mentioned it~ Cassidy is the main character for my Sci-Fi novels...She's a pretty kick ass character...Sensual and powerful...

The world is something of a combination of Shadowrun and Cyberpunk (for those who know those RPGs)...The whole thing actually started as an experiment with me trying my hand at writing erotic Sci-Fi...Well, I liked the story and the character so much that I built off of it...in the end I have a 75K word novel and already have 10K+ on a sequal and have only just begun the story...

Tonight's not going badly...Actually it's not as complex as it sounds really...I started the Halloween story (my Trick or Tryst) in September, then FtF approached me about the virtual reality concept and I pounded that one out...then I realized # of votes became something of an issue so I created Gifting night...

Actually it's been something of a slow month as the Gifting Night series is a little under 45K words and that's all I've been working on this past month...Undercover Ops (Cassidy's novel) took about a month, maybe month and a half at most, and is almost three times as long...I blame it on working in the office too much...I never get much writing (if any) done on those nights...I get too distracted surfing the net...

Well, probably not...my distracted days (working in the office and days off) I litterally get nothing written...the only saving grace is that I can usually get somewhere between 4-7K written on the days when I'm in the booth...provided I'm not distracted by real life...However even 4k adds up...

I know how you mean about a story taking off...Once I finally got into writing the novel it shot up from about 10K and is now about 70+K...The second one isn't shooting up quite as fast but the plot hasn't even fully revealed itself to me yet...

And then, of course, there's the Dhase story which went from a 12 page story to something like 80...of course those are typed pages not lit pages...

I know how you mean about a story taking off...Once I finally got into writing the novel it shot up from about 10K and is now about 70+K...The second one isn't shooting up quite as fast but the plot hasn't even fully revealed itself to me yet...

And then, of course, there's the Dhase story which went from a 12 page story to something like 80...of course those are typed pages not lit pages...

As of the blog entry, it was around 10k. Then it started growing as I attempted to set up the situations I wanted to insert. 6k in three days is a lot for me. I think this one will run its course long before it reaches novel, or even novella lenght. It's at 38 'Word' pages, and we are getting close to a wedding which is where I might end it. Three or four more chapters.

You'd be surprised how much three or four chapters can grow...When I had about four scenes/chapters left in my novel I think I was at about 80 pages...in the end it ended up being about 130+...The story seemed to take on a life of its own and had more to say than I thought it did

I was surprised when one chapter went on and on before the characters let me close it. A really talkative pair, they were. LOL.
