Bittersweet but magnificent - the song acknowledges the innocence of youthful hope and the pain of crushed hope, but reaffirms the endless river of life at the end, followed by one of Gilmour's very best guitar solos (meaning, one of the very best guitar solos that you could hear). This is the shorter studio version with a fascinating video, but the live versions are even better musically IMHO.

I'm not the biggest Oliver Tree fan, but every now and then he hits one out of the park. It wedges itself in the deepest regions of my mind in a way that resurfaces under tepid, low pressure water.
