Day 11: Your favorite possession in a
spooky movie or television show. πŸŽ¬πŸ‘»πŸ“Ί
The Carpathian Eagle, an episode of The Hammer House of Horror. Sexy Suzanne Daniel's character seduces men in a series of skimpy outfits, with the suggestion that she is possessed, or at least influenced by a generational collective unconscious, by a murderous ancestor.

I have to go with Michael Myersβ€”The Shapeβ€”The Boogieman.

He scared me more than anything else when I was a kid. I saw Halloween II when it was WAY too young and it scared me on a profound level. Then I watched the original and was even more scared.

For some reason, I kept watching those two movies even though I knew I would be scared for days afterward. I also got to see PJ Soles and Pamela Susan Shoop’s boobs, which affected me in another very profound way! πŸ˜‰

**Fun side note: PJ decided to leave her shirt unbuttoned so during her death scene her breasts would be visible knowing that this would give her more screen time. I love that about her! β™₯️

How do you feel about William Shatner?

So maybe she's more sci-fi than supernatural but I love The Bride of Frankenstein! She's so completely iconic πŸ–€πŸ€ Elsa Lanchester is perfect and I'm so looking forward to seeing Jessie Buckley play The Bride next year 😍

Day 10: A spooky movie with a number in the title.

Plan 9 From Outer Space.

How can I not love a movie that Ed Wood built around eleven minutes of Bella Lugosi's makeup and costume test shots after the actor died? Then he cast it with all he weird friends as well as a bunch of Southern Baptists who helped finance the film (Wood and several cast members were baptized to keep them happy), and, my favorite, Wood's chiropractor who took a chance at stardom in lieu of Woods paying his bill. (He was Lugosi's physical stand-in, regardless of being quite a bit taller than the actor. He covered his face and tried to hunch over whenever on screen). It is hilarious, and a love letter from Wood not only classic science fiction, but to his friend. It got the MST3K treatment, but really, that was overkill. Horrible dialog, amateur actors, bad props, little plot -- it is a classic for a reason.

There may be a level of recency bias in this, as the The Girl and I just finished Agents of SHIELD's Fourth season, but I don't think so. I have loved the character of Ghost Rider since I was a kid, when Marvel had really good horror comics, but the two film versions were...bad. Really, really, really fucking bad. Nick Cage at his Nick Cageiest. But AoS proved with a good story, a good actor, and some restraint, a fantastic tale can be told. Gabriel Luna plays the Robbie Reyes version, a young man whose tragedy leaves his brother in a wheelchair and himself possessed by a spirit of vengeance from Hell. But Robbie took the deal to settle his own scores, which adds a level of complexity the Johnny Blaze stories often lacked. But he isn't really in control. He nails that point at about 1:09:

"I'm not the one who decides."

As I said, I have always loved the character, in all its incarnations, and I was so happy to see it done justice for once. I am just sorry they never kept on with the character.

This is the first character I thought of, so I decided to go with it. Definitely not a spooky movie, but a great supernatural being.

A repeat answer: Pinhead - Hellraiser. He's pensive, articulate, and not your typical "scary villain". He has a certain gravitas that I think a lot of horror characters lack. One of my favorite characters in any horror movie.
Have you seen the interview where Doug Bradley does Pinhead in his real accent?

I have done angels, and demons, and ghosts, and vampires. How about...cars!

Christine

I loved the book, and the idea of a supernatural car was so good that the script was done before the book was published. This is a fantastic adaptation, but it gets overlooked, both as a King movie and as a Carpenter one. It has a great cast, a sold story, but the girl herself is absolutely the star.

"Okay, show me."

Add in Carpenter's minimalist synth score and you have magic. 1983, so all of that is done practically. Fantastic.

And the idea of a supernatural car who helps the ghost of her former owner take over the life of a high school boy is just creepy and perfect. I love this movie, I love this car.

Fucking A. This was second on my list for this scene alone. Like top 50 lines in film for me.

Day 13: A spooky movie or television show with an animal in it. πŸŽ¬πŸ¦†πŸΏπŸΈπŸ»πŸ¦πŸΆπŸ±πŸ€πŸπŸ¦«πŸ°πŸ“πŸ΅πŸΊπŸ¦ŠπŸ«ŽπŸŽπŸ·πŸ˜πŸ¦ˆπŸœπŸ•·πŸπŸžπŸͺ±πŸͺ°πŸ“Ί

It can be the lead character or not, but has to play a significant role. A memorable scene, etc.
