I wear a stainless cock-ring all day. I personally have never had any issues, pissing or getting hard. I've had more issues with silicone than stainless.. and not adverse issues. As my trainer says; "listen to your body."

I have several. Three different materials. Steel 2" ID, Silicon "O" ring zero stretch, 1.875 ID, and a home made PVC ring 2" ID.
I have several store bought silicone rings. One is a "taint" ring, 1.75 ID. It's almost too small. I have to work at it to get my balls through it.
All seem to help with erection quality and all are, obviously worn until I'm once again flaccid. I am comfortable with all of them when flaccid. I feel them while they are being worn but there is no restriction of blood flow.
Some say that they hold your junk out and away from your body and enhance your "look" but I don't think it's noticeable except maybe when worn only with tight briefs.

How wide is the ring? Mine are 3/16" (silicon) and 1/4" (steel). The PVC ring is cut from a piece of pipe and measures 3/4 ". It does enhance the bulge more than the others. Certainly if worn with briefs or a speedo.

Yeah, if you aren't erect then there's no problem. It's the self-induced priapism which would be the problem, just like ring-less priapism.

Though, I'm not sure how someone would get it off if they didn't get soft in it first. Maybe the warning is, like, don't edge with a constant boner for >4 hours.

I think (based on no personal experience) that edging for four hours would be fine, the "action" is probably circulating blood through it, and circulation is what matters. Constant erection due to active stimulation isn't the same as priapism. Thanks for the comments. It helps clarify things. That's why I use a silicone ring that I can take off even when I'm real hard. For me, I'm not so much worried about priapism as I am about comfort. After I ejaculate, I normally get soft pretty quickly. But with the ring on, I stay hard long enough to feel a lot of discomfort.
