Currently I'm enamored with Tunnels to Towers because you can see their results.

I'm not sure how they get around the gift tax or even if the value of the homes are included as income for the recipients, but they're at least doing something for those who put it all on the line for the rest of us.

So, who do you give contributions to?

*Face palm*

You lobby for corporations and Trump not to pay their share in taxes
and then you ask us poor fuckers to give to charity?

I donate to teachers of america so that little boys and little girls dont grow up retarded and think water is made from carbon.

RNLI. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution has saved 140,000 lives since inception (1824) at a loss of 600 of its own volunteers. Each of the 400 lifeboats in British and Irish waters is closely connected to the communities they serve, and as a voluntary body their service is second to none.

Most Local, but National is St. Jude's

Nothing worse than a sick child.

I have a few!

National: HDUSA, Colon Cancer Foundation, the United Way (sort of a work requirement)

Local: Wyman, and a Women’s shelter..

This..although I must admit to ceasing for a year when they sacked some crew.

I help organise charity events, and volunteer in charity shops at weekends. Foodbanks coud also use your help. 2021 and we still need foodbanks.. a crying shame.

I give my support (financial) to three - Catholic Relief Services (the hospital fund that provides low/no cost medical services), Feeding America, and the Red Cross. Pretty traditional there.

On the local level, I provide volunteer hours to a housing assistance consortium (working behind the scenes in the area of expertise - software and database services). Then, the local Red Cross and local charity that cleans river beds.

I give regularly to the local food bank, Covenant House (a youth shelter), a couple of cancer related orgs, and a couple engineering scholarship funds.

Make-A-Wish because I know it works. My friend's kid "applied" and they sent the entire family on an all-expenses-paid trip to Disneyworld including airfare and a spectacular hotel.

.
I give to obvious self rehabilitation threads after another one of Harpy's public humiliation episodes. :D

Coincidentally, (and seriously), one of the charities I support is The Water Project. (NOT the Carbon Based Water Project).

I encourage anyone who gives to charities to include The Water Project in your portfolio.

Group 2 is still wondering where they went wrong. :)

I donate to the dog rescue that I volunteer for. They operate on donations.
Toys to the fire department for the Christmas toy drive. Which I have plenty.
Clothes go to the diabetes foundation. They pick up and give receipts. Another, that I have plenty of.
Miscellaneous go fund me accounts.
Anything else that moves me.

I donate to a local charity that matches college students with inner city kids as tutors. They have four locations in Boston and 110 volunteer tutors from Harvard, Tufts Boston College and Northeastern. Any kid who stays in the program graduates high school (i.e. a 100% HS graduation rate). The program has been running for forty years.

High School graduation vs drop out is a game changer in terms of outcomes. Harder to measure is how much the tutors are changed. Many of them end up doing for four years of college and some continue while in graduate school.

I've contacted them about carbon-based water, the new threat.

My axe has medium-carbon steel. Fuck the environment.

I'm guessing it does more damage to people's skulls than a medium-carbon water axe. Damage to the environment is a different matter.......

Our local Humane Society which with support of the community has transitioned into a 'no-kill' facility:)

Annual Motorcycle Toy Run - raises $ and toys for children for Christmas and any extra funding roll's over to the food bank.

My "favorite" is the local children's hospitals. They get my $s. Goodwill gets everything else.
