Congratulations, Mr. President: A New Trump Milestone

Like I said.

I took my information from the NBC...

They really took me with their Trump propaganda showing declines in daily deaths.

Of course, as long as just one dies, the total count is going to rise daily...

 my bad

PS - can you show me a correct source that reenforces your claims?

Just so that we can argue from the same data set.

;) ;)

Amazing how math works, eh? Add just one and the number goes up. Add 500 and it goes up more.

These death totals are also amazing:
New York, 23,391
New Jersey, 11,133
Massachusetts, 6,372
Connecticut, 3,693
Pennsylvania, 5,124

Five states, five Democrat governors, about 50 percent of the deaths.
In other words, if you live in about 92 percent of the land mass of the U.S., your chances of dying from the China virus are way low.

You mean where almost no one wants to live.

Shouldn't you rename the thread, "Congratulations Governors; A new state(s) milestone."

Do you even know how a Federal Republic works?

Exactly, you beat me to it. When do governors like Cuomo and Baker start incurring some of the liability and blame for poor management decisions.

Governors are always pushing for states rights, well along with states rights comes responsibility for good and bad. The template was evident from the Washington state nursing home debacle and Cuomo and Baker still fucked it up. Trump gave them what they needed to include hospital ships.

We had 2 more deaths in my small town in very Republican Wyoming. Both are what the doctors here are calling Corona. But when no one tests...they don't get counted do they?

Good point. 100,000 coronavirus deaths are only those deaths recorded as such. The real number may be significantly higher.

Correct. The real number could be significantly lower.

But it is far lower than the original millions projected.

Agreed. We're much better off with social distancing in place than we would have been without. And if social distancing rules had been mandated a week or two earlier, probably we would have been better off again. 👍

~100,000 coronavirus deaths, as of May 25th, 2020.

Social distancing one week earlier could have saved 36,000 US lives: study

The U.S. could have avoided nearly 36,000 deaths caused by the coronavirus through early May if stay-at-home orders and other social distancing restrictions were implemented just one week earlier, a new study from Columbia University researchers shows.

The study, which focused on transmission in metropolitan areas, found that social distancing measures adopted throughout the nation after March 15 "effectively reduced rates of COVID-19 transmission."

The researchers estimated that had the measures been instituted just one week earlier that the U.S. may have avoided more than 700,000 confirmed cases of the virus and as many as 35,927 deaths that it caused.

estimated is another way of saying....GUESSING

it would have also cost MILLIONS more unemployed, millions more lives destroyed, business destroyed and additional poverty for millions

not to mention, no one suggested it or needed it or would have stood for it

Got to wonder how many infections could have been prevented had Pelosi, Cantrell and de Blasio not cheered their constituent to party in the streets, payed attention to the science instead of chasing a foolish impeachment agenda.

First, that's a wild ass guess. No one knows what MIGHT HAVE BEEN and cannot state those assumptions as FACTS.

But, good try.

Secondly, exactly when are we supposed to STOP all the social distancing/lock down stuff? What's the exit plan?

Of course it isn't. And, of course, you know better.

I do know better and it is GUESSING....and no one would have dared talk of that at that time

In fact, at that time Fauci was saying going on a cruise of ok, many were inviting visitors to China Towns etc

So ITS BEE ESS

On Memorial Day, President Donald Trump attacked Democratic Congressman
and U.S. Marine reserve officer Conor Lamb (PA)

Trump lied- Lamb pledged not to vote for Pelosi as Speaker if his party regained the majority
A promise that, contrary to Trump’s false claims, Lamb fulfilled in early 2019, when he was
one of 15 Democrats to voted someone else to head the Democratic House caucus.

Trump's grudge-Lamb’s two votes to impeach him last December.

Guessing in this pejorative sense suggests picking from a set of alternative hypotheses at random.

Put it this way: you're living on the Atlantic seaboard. There's a hurricane approaching. Do you suppose the hurricane could make landfall anywhere along the coast (or not), or do you put credence in the probability density issued by meteorologists. Does it matter? After all, they're both "guesses."
