I have spoken about this in the past, as have other conservatives on the board. But we've more or less tackled the micro as opposed to the macro. The linked video goes at it from the macro level. Right, left, or in the middle the 9 minutes it takes to watch the video is time well worth spent.

The Fatal Flaw.

Thank you. Just this once, I don't need to see it. I believed the OP looonnnnnng before this thread.

I've had no problem identifying and boxing in those radicals on the left. There's a proposal right now before the legislature of California to force all private employers to submit their compensation policies to the state (which is full of leftists) in order for the state to determine if you have equal pay for females, ostensibly to allow the state to reconstruct them if those "leftists" feel you are not in compliance. This is another step in the ongoing Sovietization of the California business environment.

I read that. Getting back to the intersectionality issue, how would that work re. a business owned by a black lesbian?

One wonders if another fatal flaw in California's left has been identiofied by the release of a Berkeley poll showing a majority of Californians favor the deportation of illegal aliens.:D

The state assembly doesn't give a shit about the people of the state, they haven't in a long, long, time.

She'd probably by overlooked for those businesses owned and operate by the much more racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-Communist, white males.;)

The fatal flaw of the left is that they always try to negotiate with the right in good faith, hoping that the right will do what's best for the people of this country, which never happens.

The fatal flaw of that Big Think video (or rather, the title) is identifying leftism with postmodernism, which isn't necessarily true.

Post-modernism is nothing more than neo-marxism, they are only remotely associated with classic liberalism.

The fata flaw of Progressivism was well highlighted in the video; the embrace of the radical as a means of pushing identity politics by creating as many special groups (Colter's unassailable victims) as you can and then call on them to unite (straight out of Alinsky's Rules for Radicals) for whatever the cause of the day is as the angry mob will get all of the headlines and appear to be some "motivated" moral majority moved by righteous outrage that must then be placated by virtue-signaling on the part of the target. Of course, they use labels like angry-old white people who offer principled opposition.

I'm waiting for some neo-marxist to answer the question, "where are the markers?" Exactly what philosophy crosses the line for them?

I'm waiting for that discussion, but not holding my breath. I don't think that the vast majority of them even understand the question.

Who are we to judge? We cannot even know reality because our brain interprets everything. How are we to know that you don't see our big purple crayon as an orange sharpie?

Johnathan Haidt in this ted talk has some interesting things to say regarding the left-right dunamics as well, his work on disgust is also really interesting for anyone that gives a crap.... the vids a near 20mins though.

Na but you gotta admit there is a bit of venn diagram crossover.

I'd be willing to go one step further, and say most postmodernists are probably leftists. But certainly not all leftists are postmodernists, especially the way leftism is used in American politics.

This is true, the far left tend to be the vocal minority causing the cultural revolution to erode the fabric of free speech and western values etc. Some of them are so far left a centrist is a nazi.

The liberalism has swung past sane levels and toward totalitarian fascism, silencing any dissenting opion with the same levels of violence, i.e. antufa that Hitler used.

when James Damore gets fired from google writing a memo that was well structured well thought out and an actual attempt to adress an issue his company asked him to address you know something is wrong.

I might look into that. Never heard of him. So long as it is unbiased and objectively realistic.

Is there humor? Will there be horror and tales of sordid affairs? And is it logical? There HAS to be a Spock in there somewhere. Fascinating.

Also, Ismale's obsession with Jordan Peterson is still amusing. There are way better conservative political thinkers to read and follow. Try some Nozick or Hayek or Van Parijs etc.
