Will Gay Sex Be Outlawed Now That It Causes Cancer?

Blow jobs ‘expected to overtake smoking’ as the main cause of mouth cancer

Not always true. Just don't inhale. Wait that could be for smoking.

Do they make penis filters? Not counting condoms.

Additionally, we've known for years that the gay lifestyle has health repercussions...

When people thing of gays, they only think about the glamorous top 10%, they never even consider the glory-hole gang.

We think of you guys in wats thread whenever gay things are mentioned...

And to stay on actual point, in reference to this 'gay lifestyle' of which you're so clearly well informed ... what's your actual argument here? Because I'm kind of reading it as 'if people have lots of sex, they sort of deserve a high incidence of STI's, because of the 'lifestyle' they've chosen'.

At a gay bar, then at a lesbian bar...lol
Sure kimoslobby.

I think you'll find that once a sub-group of the population - e.g. gay men, sex workers, etc - work out that a particular practice is detrimental to the health of that population, they pretty speedily work to resolve the situation.

Not true at all.

Men who have sex with men are 2% of the population, and account of 70% of HIV infections. Gay men know better, and can buy a condom at their local gas station, bar vending machine and in many places can get them for free. They are fully well aware that unprotected anal is the best way to transmit HIV and yet they do it anyway. I don't know why. That's the real question, why have raw anal when you know better?

I could develop a fairly well argued and supported refutation to this, but in my experience, that's a bit of a waste of time.

But, in fairly general terms, the reason HIV didn't wipe out the gay/MSM population n the 80s and 90s was because the vast majority of men in that population reacted appropriately to the issue.

Obesity causes cancer. So we should outlaw sugar, fast food, trans fats and make gym membership mandatory right?

Why not just outlaw fat people? The population would be smaller and riding public transportation easier on the planes, trains, and buses.

Refute the CDC all you want, I will not be offended. I don't work for them. IF they are wrong, they should be refuted. In fact maybe they would hire you, and it would be beneficial to everyone.

Correct about the 80s and 90s, everyone heeded the warnings and stopped having unprotected anal. Now there obviously is a sizable population of gay men who pay no attention to the warnings.

Again you claimed, "[once they] work out that a particular practice is detrimental to the health of that population, they pretty speedily work to resolve the situation." If that were true, 2% of the population would not account for 70% of the infections. They know what to do, yet don't act accordingly.

Also, let's try rephrasing that to see how well that argument stands in other contexts:

"Men who have sex with women are approximately 98% of the population, and account of 100% of unintended/unwanted pregnancies. Straight men know better, and can buy a condom at their local gas station, bar vending machine and in many places can get them for free. They are fully well aware that unprotected vaginal is the best way to get pregnant and yet they do it anyway. I don't know why. That's the real question, why have raw vaginal when you know better?"

See how silly that looks?

It's not 2% of the population - it's a subset of that proportion.

Barebacking is a fair bone of contention within the MSM health sector. There's a long argument about the generational shift that I could present here, but again, I feel it's probably not worth my time or energy.

Are you saying the CDC statistics are wrong? If so, I am sure they would review your findings. What is your background that leads you to think those stats are a lie or irrelevant?

I think you do a terrible disservice to young gay men when you fight the truth about infection rates. But then again, maybe you know more than the CDC and thus young men should keep on fucking raw.

BTW, I know that 100% figure isn't quite right, but I couldn't be bothered finding actual stats. The point I'm clearly making isn't really depending dependent on accuracy in this instance. But if someone's offended by my lack of precise stats, I will find them.

No, I"m not saying they're wrong at all. But the subtext of your argument seems to be that gay men are somehow immoral in their choices.
If you want to clarify exactly what your argument is, please do.

I never said anything about gay men being immoral. (Why lie about that?) Frankly straight men would have the same problem but the fact is, we women won't allow it.

I am not making an argument, I am stating facts. Most people do not correct themselves when they learn their actions are bad for their health. Gay men having raw anal is only one example. There are many which have nothing to do with sexual orientation as well. In fact the vast majority of examples don't have anything to do with sex.

It's mostly through needle sharing, angry black woman.

lol

NO, the Republicans will be blamed for not wanting to spend the money to cure anal cancer because they are homophobes...

Where have you been for the last three or four decades?

Good lord.

Why is it always straight to homosexual insults even as the attempt is made to defend homosexuality.

What the hell is the major malfunction with Liberal thinking here?

at what age did you first have anal sex with a man?

Damn, that article damned near mirrors Vetty's ass cancer article, with hypothesizin' and guesstimates.

Sex is very very dangerous!

Ha! I grabbed the first salatious ones I came across.

Nice how they tweaked the LA Times article to suit their own agenda in the OP. I'm completely shocked the that folks at PJ Media have no concern for woman's health issues.

If the wingnuts of America want to put their energies into promoting greater awareness of the HPV vaccine, I'm all for it.

Why refer to anal sex as gay sex? It seems like about 95% of the straight men I've ever talked to about sex, a topic that has come up quite often in my life, have asked if I'm into anal sex. A lot of straight men are very keen on anal sex.

Is it just that they're transmitting anal cancer instead of getting it that makes it okay for them to stick their dicks in asses?

No need to respond, I already know the answer to that. Carry on.

Scroll to the bottom of the LA Times article and you will find a "paid placement" disclaimer. In other words, a group with an agenda to push paid to have their article placed under the Times' banner. Voila! Instant respectability!!

...or will it be politically incorrect to talk about it and address it in public? Will it be allowed therefore to spread?:......

......

original LA Times article

Megan Fox and LA Times not part of the media?

Note to self: practice safe sex.

I really hate to break it to you, but gay men aren't the only people to have anal sex

A lot of straight men are very keen on anal sex.

Ain't that the truth: particularly in porn.

If you really want to piss off conservatives and Republicans, talk about fat and sugar taxes and the government paying people to exercise. :D
