What's your latest culinary creation?

Chicken breasts topped with pesto, artichoke hearts and mozzarella, baked with a pint of grape tomatoes.

Home made pizza with home made tomato sauce - with thin slices of lamb (usually used in hot pots - which is like a fondue only with meat and veges and cooked at the table) with black olives, eggplant and mozzarella.
Delicious!

Swamp cabbage stew. Cabbage, peeled tomatoes, ground sausage and beef, a touch of jalapenos for flavoring, and sugar.

Baby back ribs. Me and a neighbor spent a good part of today cooking them. He has his own homemade cooker. Fuckin' things are awesome! I've rediscovered a lost art.

What have you cooked today?

The kitchen used to be my favorite place in the house when I was growing up and then had kids of my own to feed. Living alone so long now, I've lost the inspiration for having a home with the kitchen as the center piece of good times and good food at the beginning and ending of every day.

Roasted chicken based on a chicken recipe I got off of the TV.....stuff it with lemon and garlic, thats pretty much it.....awexome

Chili Colorado is simmering, Pinto beans cooking in beer and garlic. Just have to make a salad. .

Sounds delish. Nice thread, btw. I want to get into cooking again. I have less incentive since my kids are grown and out of state.

Tomato soup, with two handfuls mixed veggies, Browned ground beef, precooked rice, parsley, oregano, Basil, and crushed red pepper with grilled cheese on whole wheat bread. All ingredients to taste.

Thanks. I see a few posts on things I like.
Today I put myself on a diet of sorts. I'm going w/veggies and fruits for a while. No more meats, sodas, tea, or coffee. Shame I'm not going to drink that 6 pack I bought yesterday; I want the 6 pack abs back.

Although it's not cooking in the strictest sense..... lately I have been going a bit crazy with sprouts. I have 3 sprouting trays set up and am harvesting alfalfa, mustard and mung bean sprouts every day.
Salads, spreads and stirfries have been the go.

My "cooking" today consisted of boiling a few eggs for a tuna salad which also included apples and candied pickles. :)

I hear you on the fruits and veg's. I've been eating raw sweet bell peppers, red, orange, and yellow which are really good.

I took a good look at myself in the mirror yesterday, by accident, as I popped the top on a beer. It caught me by surprise and I didn't like what I seen.....like a man I didn't recognize nor liked the looks of. I didn't take the 1st sip of that beer. I used to take good care of myself because my livelihood depended on it. Time to get back to my old self.

Mirrors aren't our bff's sometimes. :(

And the long road back to fitness begins tomorrow. Slowly. Wanna join me?

Sure..I need to start back up myself with walking, stretching and my 3# weights. I was doing good for a while then got bummed ahout something. I can't do real heavy weights because I had rotator disk probs a few years back and don't want that popping up again.
