I think a big part of why I enjoy it is that it's very effective and can make me a sobbing mess pretty fast, but on the other hand it takes very little planning and more often than not comes as a complete surprise.

No, like 99% of ruptures, it wasn't permanent - the eardrum repairs itself, albeit with scar tissue. I've had it happen before, in combination with more severe ear trauma (not from kink though!). I happened to already have an appointment with my audiologist the day after it happened, and it showed about a 15dB drop, most of which was probably attributable to the rupture! I feigned ignorance, even though I knew what it was the moment it happened.

And yeah, don't cover the ear, but it was the height of passion, and...oops!

Most of the time we don't have this problem, though.

What about face slapping that isn't really related to BDSM? Meaning I guess that both adults aren't part of any other aspects of BDSM and Meaning that both adults agree to it and enjoy it. Half of my face was kind of swollen and there were a few other marks to be seen as well, so a Q-tip accident wouldn't really have covered it. But the doctor was surprisingly fine with it. I was afraid that the doctor would start giving a hard time to me and especially him and think it's domestic violence, but when I explained the situation calmly and rationally, it didn't seem to be an issue.

To the receptionist I said that a basketball hit my face, or something as stupid.
