Something that has been brought to my attention recently is the massive problem of kink shaming, which is negatively affecting a group of people to the point of isolation, which is not helpful for mental health and pushes people into more unsafe alternatives. And on the topic of BDSM bondage fantasies, submissive or otherwise, are much more common than people would like to admit. Worse still, people may be threatened by their local jurisdiction's legal system if a new law comes into force prohibiting said fictional writing.

Honestly I hate the UK government, because what they are doing despite their misinformed fearmongering, is they're working toward taking away people's right to think, and I don't know very many people who do like them. But they are actively moving toward controversial legislation that threatens people's civil libertiies. Source, State Authority over Fantasy. Oh well, at least we won't be forced to live on this planet forever, old age, injury and illness prevents immortality being possible. If such a law gets passed, then I hope people fight hard to have these people ousted in the next election.

Being a submissive male, you do get a bit of "God made men to be dominant and women to submit, so you are violating God's laws" kind of flack from certain quarters; I've encountered some of this. A lot of women also don't like the idea of men being kinky and submissive, and think its, well, unmanly. Also, certain kinks are found to be, well, distasteful (literally) by some.

I just try to take it in stride and do my best to not be judgemental myself.

Technically in the state where I live, any BDSM activity involving impact play is a crime, because the law is written that you can't consent to assault.

I was just DMing with someone about this. On THIS platform of all platforms, I had the naive hope that folks would not be judgemetal and would be accepting of everyone. Another lit friend just stepped away today because of racist, anti-Asian comments towards her on a thread

I had to delete a thread of mine due to a mob of kink shames a few weeks ago.

Insane that even on this platform people can't just be who they are. It's so sad and infuriating.

There are just too many people who get off on being anonymously mean to people online

How weird? If you were on Facebook I'd understand, but here? Feckin' 'ell.
