Mmmmm feminism at its best heh. Yea I know...ready for the flak but seriously...whats wrong with a woman taking steps towards the man she wants? I mean...in todays realm of women holding successful jobs, sometimes ranking very high in the world [say, the CEO of HP], whats wrong if she were a little more assertive than playing with her hair? I've heard it all before "But I flicked my teeth...or I twirled a bit of hair in my finger." The subtle signs of interest, that a lot of men don't pay attention to. But then again, this does delve deeper into other topics...say..does the man still pay for dinner even if she asks him out? If she makes more money than he does, why is he still paying for everything? Hell in this day and age...is it he or she that drives and thusly pays for the $3.25 a gallon in gas?

I say there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I am a strong believer in gender equality in every way. However, to achieve this equality, it would mean women or girls giving up certain legal preferences and perks that they have always enjoyed, such as the one that is the subject of this thread.

I've paid for dinner, on dates. With men. Whom I've asked out.
And as for driving, it depends on who's got the more fun car. Right now, my 99 Aerostar? I wouldn't humiliate a date by asking them to be seen in it. But in the days when my ride was a 69 Mustang fastback, with a shaker hood, fliptail, and matt black racing stripes, I did ALL the driving.

I was rather fortunate as a youth in that I had a circle of friends where the girls were every bit as forward as the boys, and I was asked out as often as I asked girls out. Being passive, while not getting me laid as much as if I'd gone and made an effort, was still not much of a handicap in terms of getting sex.

The older men get, the more they have to make an effort to be charming/sexy/interesting or whatever, because basically how many women are going to ask a fifty-year-old bloke for a fuck if he's thick and boring. But young people can get away with having 0.01% brains as long as they have good bods and can fuck reasonably well.

Although repeatedly shot down, they get up, dust themselves off, suck it up and try again. "Once more into the breach, dear friends." On the stubbornness and courage of straight men has always rested the survival of the human species.

This does not apply to all men. There are a few superstar makeout artists who do not get shot down. People such as Sam Malone and The Fonz have always been envied by the rest of the gender.

Male Dolphin Pods have been documented cutting a female away from her family pod and gang raping her for weeks. I kid you not! There was a huge study done on either spotted or bottle nose dolphins in the carribean - a few years back - Eventually they would let the female dolphin go back to her maternal pod and start all over with another female dolphin. If I remember correctly - the males would have "wars" with other male pods and then if they won would hunt down their females and would "cull" a preferred female out of it and keep her seperated for weeks (sometimes months). During that time the males in that "gang" would take turns "raping" her. Eventually, either because she was weak from hunger and abuse or they got bored, they would let her return to her maternal pod and go find another gang to fight with and start all over again.

I was absolutely stunned by it! I beleive it was a Animal Planet or Discovery Channel Documentary on Dolphins in the Carribean.
