I read with a mixture of sadness and relief an essay by one Melissa Persling, who by all accounts represents the average 30-something woman in America today. In the article, she laments the fact that she’s single at 38 and feels "unbelievably betrayed by feminism."

Persling feels that way because it is that way. For decades, our culture has failed women by spreading falsehood after falsehood about men, marriage, motherhood and career. It’s been a slow, daily drip of "You go, Girl!" messages, specifically designed to delete men and babies from life’s equation. And it has wreaked havoc on women’s lives.

America is now saturated with women like Persling, who acted upon the wisdom passed along to them by the people they most trusted. These women thought they did everything right, only to have it turn out all wrong. To accept that the advice they received was based on lies is a hard lesson for anyone to learn.

The truth is, this purportedly "liberated" path women have been groomed to travel has a domino effect. Because if the goal isn’t marriage and family, what is the goal? To be satisfied with being single forever because at least you have a paycheck and no one to whom you must answer? As Persling said, "I don’t want to wake up at 60 and say, ‘Oh, well, I had a lot of fun!’"

I think the thing the right seems to misunderstand is that (specifically evangelicals) the alpha male lifestyle isn't "the right way" to live life for everyone. It isn't the "moral authority" way. It is simply a perspective on how to live life that works for some people.

If they could just accept that, life would be better for them and others.

So you want to make it about religion and or politics? It doesn't have anything to do with either. It has to do with women being able to survive on their own in the world without a man. Feminists today are beginning to realize that life without a productive male is a miserable life, a life where they get to work until they die and then die alone. The real fact is women need men, men do not need women. Once they hit 35-40 with high body counts and a child or two they are rejected by most productive men who do not want to raise another man's children or invest in a woman who is too old and used up to bear his children.

It is about religion and politics. Your position makes that very clear.

If a woman wants to go solo in her life, that is her choice - you demeaning them for doing so is a demonstration of your hatred and misogyny.

You attempting to pretend there is some sort of science or reasoning behind it is laughable and certainly doesn't make you a serious person on the topic.

There is no such thing as an independent woman, only a perception of being independent. They are all dependent on men and what men do. I don't hate such women, they are free to burden themselves as they please. Knowing what they face in life and its probable outcome, I do feel a little sorry for them though.

It doesn't have a thing to do with religion or politics. I am not a religious or political fanatic, feminism has failed women and it's women that are saying so, as SD has pointed out above.

Why's that? My first wife stayed at home after the birth of our children. My second wife stays at home too. A couple of my friends were stay at home dads. Lots of parents give up an income to make sure one parent is home.

Where it is a problem is with people who think that women should stay at home. You I suspect, wrongway for sure, and I'm sure I can add whole shit load of names from the rest of RWCJ around here.

You're just a proud liar. I haven't failed any woman. I have lived with them and literally helped to support them. I have protected them in public and I have helped them from time to time when called upon. What I haven't done is sell out my masculinity for one. I get along fine with normal women. I have no time for disrespectful entitled women who think the world owes them unearned deference.

I’ve got no problem with it at all. My wife has always been a stay at home wife and mom. I just got a kick out of the article. Gen Z guys get the milk without having to buy the cow. What does RWCJ stand for? I assume Right wing something?
