I'm the daughter of a first generation feminist. She didn't teach me to hate men, she taught me not to limit myself based on their opinions. Feminism gave me the right to my own bank account, to own property in my name, to rent or buy a home, the right to an education, and a thousand other things men take for granted.

I'm very feminine. A girly-girl who also loves construction equipment and holds a degree in Fire Science. Being feminine & liking traditionally masculine things, are not mutually exclusive.

Men & women are different, that doesn't make us unequal. And, if you are thinking that being a SAH mom is some kind of luxury or biological imperative, you're wrong. I would have gone insane if I didn't work. I can survive just fine without my husband (25 years married), as I've made twice what he does for the past several years. And, guess what? He's proud of me, not threatened at all. He can't wait to be a trophy husband. I'm married because I want to be, not because I'm stuck, like so many of our mothers & grandmothers were.

When I hear BS like this, all I hear is that some men never learned how to be decent human beings. They want us to be trapped in marriage because they don't want to put in the effort to be good partners.
