On a lighter note, I finally found a driver for my notebook mouse.....damned vista.....

i work for a computer company and wouldn't recommend vista....internal I/T wants me to upgrade from XP, yet they can't get it to work with the programs I need most....uhm hello!

It has been a pain in the ass, but uncle bill put out 23 updates last week. Finally got my printer to work with it. It is fast, looks like he stole things from firefox and some others.....lol

jerks....but Vista is the biggest piece of donkey crap I've ever heard of.....we started offering it soley because of Microsoft but we went back to offering XP in addition cause most people wanted XP and not Vista

ME was the biggest rip off.......it never did work and they never supported it.......I do like the multiple transparent windows in vista.
I actually saw a system a few weeks back still running with Win95, but you're right ME was the worst.....but I use a system at work with Win2K on it....yet I/T won't touch it cause they say it's 'too old'....its not like you gotta be a rocket scientist to understand it, then again most of the I/T people I've dealt with just say 'defrag and run chkdsk'...that seems to be their standard answer
there's a guy at work that actually let I/T upgrade him and it looks ok, but I'm sure I would hate it after a few uses.....I can see a bit of Vista with office 2007 but otherwise I see no real need to upgrade from XP.....I've thought about it on my home system, but I'm not gonna shell out $300 plus $$ for a memory upgrade.....

only reason I have it, it came with the computer. XP is probably better because it is getting close to perfection. so they will dump it soon and not support i like windows 98...lol.....I think the transparent windows actually came from apple.......they share now so they can be compatible.
I've actually heard of them extending support for XP....they initially wanted to stop supporting it last year, but because everyone raised a fuss about Vista, they agreed to extend it or something like that

they should, vista is from from perfection . I do like the wide screen......
Vista is more of a reason for people wanting to buy a new computer to actually goto Mac and OS10....I know I've thought about it more and more if I were to buy another notebook, but I'm still partial to a PC...I know how to fix it and do what I need to do...

desktop here too.....cub has a laptop and likes it, I hate their small screens......I got the media edition now I can watch cable from here.....lol
I'll prolly just stick with my desktop - I have a notebook for work and I too hate the small screen...yeah you can get bigger screens but you give up small and portable....if you want a big screen, just get a desktop....you don't always have to surf for internet porn in the kitchen or on the back patio LOL
