Millie's terrible day thread. You can post any and of your disappoints for the day, week, month, year, or your life.

Bloody nose when I woke up this morning. Bad one. Took 20 minutes to stanch. But at least it stopped.

It's awfully early in the heating season for this crap.
I feel I've talked to you about this before, but my go-to for this is a thin layer of vaseline in my nose before bed. I used to get horrid nosebleeds all the time and haven't had one in years.

You have. I think the problem this morning is the humidifier next to my head ran dry. Nose doc advises saline nose spray, and I need to be more diligent about that now. I'm mostly surprised that it came this early - normally things don't get that desiccated "up there" until late February. It may not be helping my cause that I'm on two antihistamines. Might want to back off on those.

Oh, my! Tissue up the nose is usually my solution.

I wish. My variety of nosebleeds are the type that would get packed with cotton at the ER. In 60 years of dealing with them, I've mastered the pressure-to-the-right-place technique. Even the nose doc was impressed. I only truly get worried if it takes more than 30 minutes to stop, and at that point I tell C to get ready for transport.

Anyway, when it happens, they're gushers. Forensics team would have a field day in our bathroom!
