The real problem with the D's is that the liberal left isn't as smart as they wanted everyone to believe. Instead of concentrating on solutions, they decided that they were going to go all in against Trump, society, normal reality, and their neighbors and friends.

To do this they invented a fantasy world, complete with a fantasy language and tried to force this onto everyone else. This was an outgrowth of the Covid restrictions debacle and should have been expected with a counter offensive prepared and waiting. That the R's weren't prepared is on them for screwing up.

Happily, it didn't work and the actual result is that this oddball fantasy reality fragmented the D party and pushed the normal D's and independents into the welcoming arms of the R's.

However, the fantasy they created didn't allow for any sort of retraction or pulling back so now they're stuck with their outrageous platform and verbiage. Which will continue to alienate those who might otherwise vote D and without those voters the D's are hosed.

Well, in fairness, when you promote imbeciles, sit around and interview them, tell them how smart they are, encourage them at every turn, then you get that proverbial echo chamber that resonates with our prolific democrats posting on this forum.

Thankfully, the rest of the county didn’t fall for the BS this time.
