What would you do if Literotica suddenly went away?

Splash Zone is extra $$

Ok I'm leaving.
A young couple are on vacation and they see a sign that they can't read. On the sign, "splash zone" is inexplicably in English. Thinking that it's a Gallagher style comedy show, they go in and get the last tickets in the splash zone.

Turns out that it's a sex show and the coup de grace is a chorus line of women squirting.

Edit: or it could be a line of men finishing off the show...

There's a couple different ways it could go.

What's the difference between an exhibitionist and a nudist?

I thought it was the depth of the blush.

Pantyhose? Who wears pantyhose these days? Those went out with Joe Namath.

I have all my stories, so they won't be lost. There's many exclusives here, so it'd just be a "fresh start" with them posted under this name. I'd miss talking to yall, but I'm easy enough to find under Jax Rhapsody, so those inclined, if any, could track me down. I'm on several writing sites, although not counting this one, this name is just on two others; Lush and xnxx. This board would just be one less to visit and I'd go back to using City-Data as my quick online fix, other than Reddit and Twitter.

I would start hosting real Adult book readings and RP at my place. BYOPAL.
So this reminded me of a fun backstory of the current director of national intelligence, Avril Haines in which she once owned a book store / Cafe called Adrian's Book Cafe where she regularly hosted erotica book readings.

Sink into a state of depression.
Then look around in Reddit and LushStories and FetLife to see if the AH crowd has found a new home.

I sure hope it wouldn't be Discord, as I've never ever been able to figure out how that works.

I would happily invite you to them. I learned back in elementary school how a great book shared and read allowed with others had a great effect. I don't think they even have as such here in my city. They do for kids at the Library. But, can not recollect any for adults period. Maybe I should really think about hosting events like that. Make it a RSVP event only.

That must have been an eclectic group of attendees…except on lesbian story night as I know who three attendees in the front row would have been!

I'd post some stories elsewhere, try Smashwords, ssol etc.
AO3 could take some of them, but that's really only for fanfic. But it does have links to various fandoms and writing communities, eg on Dreamwidth (the non-Russian evolution of Livejournal), so I'd probably end up dojng more chat there.

Or Reddit. There are some good subreddits, if you can find them...
What's ssol?

In the more immediate future, I wonder what will happen when or if the states/places currently trying (and sort of succeeding) in banning PornHub and its ilk turn their attention to sites like this one.
Are you in the U.S.? I just entered PornHub.com to see what had happened. I'm not familiar with it, but it sure didn't look banned in any way.

you know I'm good for your splash zone.

okay I'm being disgusting and annual reviews aren't going to write themselves :giggle:🔫
Hmmm. Make sure you proof read extremely well, or some of your staff are going to get a strange surprise.

And keep a list of their reactions - you'll know who to keep an eye on...

And if they ever ask who Jackie is, tell them I'm an external consultant. That'll keep them in line.

Give it a try in Louisiana.

Really??? States have control over your internet access????
They have a law requiring proof that you are an adult. So you have to put your id into a state run app of some kind. But if you don't have a Louisiana ID, you're just out of luck.

Wo!

Yeah, what @djrip said is pretty much what my response to your inquiry would have been, although a simple online search for relevant news articles would provide more and better details, as this is not a hugely obscure story. But LA, UT, NC, and perhaps other states I don't remember have set up various ID requirement burdens on PornHub that the site has, in some cases, blocked all IP traffic from those states rather than face legal liability or the need for hiring additional staff/subcontractors to handle verification duties and the privacy issues that raises. Which, of course, has driven VPN use to access the site from those states up, or else pushed traffic to smaller competitor websites not currently affected, and which, in many cases, are less reputable.

On a serious note, I wonder if Laurel and Manu have made plans to continue the Site whenever they don't want to or cannot continue to manage it. It is such a significant presence in the online erotica world that I would hope so. It would be a terrible shame to let it just disappear suddenly. If they reorganized it as a Delaware corporation it could be passed on to someone else relatively easily and discreetly, but undoubtedly it would be run differently. I can't imagine too many buyers willing to take on the task of running this site in its current management form.

Go somewhere else? I already have another site lined up. Heck, I might feel better about re-posting the stuff I put here over there.

Wow.. I didn't even know states could do this. Kind of scary... Very scary.
