BLS employment report due out tomorrow, let's place bets. Here's my guess, plus or minus 5k jobs:

+174k jobs
revisions +60k
jobless rate ticks up .1%
U-6 holds steady

Whoever guesses the closest gets bragging rights for 30 minutes.

as usual

you were WRONG!:D

The U-6 - truest measure of unemployment - up from 13.8 percent to 13.9 percent.

April Payrolls +165,000, 7.5% Unemployment Rate, Participation Rate Flat At 1979 Levels

Unemployment

Following the March NFP disappointment, it was only reasonable to expect a modest beat in this month's data which came at +165,000, on expectations of +140,000, and also following a revision to the March number from 88K to 138K. The unemployment rate declined from 7.6% to 7.5% beating, expectations of an unchanged print. The flipside, as always, is that the labor participation rate remained flat, at 63.3%, once again the lowest since 1979.

Great jobs report! At this rate, we'll be back to full employment by 2019!:D

- 100% of the growth in jobs is in the services sector. Goods producing jobs DOWN 9,000

Mikey Dees and Burger Queen on a hiring binge

Awesome

ALL HIGH PAYING JOBS

Me too, a lot of folks have just flat given up on looking for a job.

You gave up a long time ago, old man, and decided to mooch off the government while preaching your bootstrappy gospel of self-sufficiency.

Remember how Pelosi was going off when the Bush unemployment rate was 5%?

How many Great Recessions did Dubya inherit.
Answer: NONE, but he sure as hell caused one.

It costs too much to produce in the United States, thanks to Dems and their regulations.

You stupid son of a bitch, there is NO cost structure in America that would allow Americans to compete with 25-cents-per-hour Asian laborers.

yeah

costs alotta $$$ to get the burger flippers in da door to get em off welfare

don't it?

numbers are skewed by peeps being hired for 47K to EXTOLL the virtues of ObamaCare

and skewed by YOU

paying Raol the Pud Puller big bucks to pull pud

This is a pretty good report and the market is going to show it today.

- In April, average hourly earnings for all employees on private nonfarm
payrolls rose by 4 cents

- +210,000 workers entered the labor force during the month

- In April, the number of long-term unemployed declined by 258,000 to 4.4 million.

- Women and minorities did some catching up

- The change in total nonfarm payroll employment for February was revised from +268,000 to +332,000.
Yeah, we had a +332,000 job February and the disappointing March was revised upward from +88k to +138k.

only HALF as much as under BushCO when we had the worst economy since HHoover

Wait. What?

The unemployment rate was higher under Bush than it is right now. The last month of Bush was 7.6% after losing -598,000 jobs in a single month or -20,000 jobs per day.

Bush put 7 million people out of work and changed a 4.9% unemployment rate into a 7.6% rate during his last year in office. Facts matter.
