Hi, all. Don't know if this will interest anyone else or not. But as an avid reader growing up, I acquired a voluminous lexicon, a veritable cornucopia of terminology. As an adult, I find that sometimes I'm searching my mental hard drive for the perfect word to describe the concept that I'm trying to impart. Sometime, only one word fully and accurately conveys what I want to express.
One of my favorites, that actually took me a long time to etch into my short-term memory, is "reconcile". Not in an accounting sense, which is how I first began using it. But in terms of trying to reconcile two seemingly-disperate, almost mutually-exclusive, facts. As in, over the past couple years, I've been trying to reconcile the fact that I'm dying fully enjoy a cock, although I can't imagine kissing another guy.
So, what are your favorite words for which there are no truly ideal synonyms?
